Xabi alonso - Defining moment?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Note to S@int. By the contrast with your opinions I mean it's a good thing to do (for every one of us, you, me, everybody), I'm not implying that you haven't done that in the past.

Football articles IMHO must be filtered, just as articles about politics. You could find articles saying one thing, and others saying the opposite. Then you could also quote Rafa saying Xabi is a holding midfielder, and the only one we had for that role until Mascherano arrived. That's why I'm saying, articles, wikipedia, and every opinion must be filtered. Nothing else, just in case.

for gods sake, does it really matter on the term given to the position?

it doesnt matter, its not like the old days with left back, right back etc, there are so many formations now that its obvious different terms will be given to different players and different positions.

do you really thaink rafa wont sell him because he is a 'holding midfielder' when he may be a 'playmaker' or whatever you wat to call him. the term given to him is irrellevent, what is relevent is whether he is good or whether he is bad, whether he wants to stay or whether he oesnt want to stay etc etc tec

Note to Sabre

Thanks for the unwanted ,unasked for ,and unneeded pompous lecture Sabre but if you look back you will see that my original post about deep lying playmakers wasn't for you. The clue was that I addressed the post to Bigmick. So whether you consider any article I copy and paste to be filtered , unfiltered or even decaffenated doesnt really concern me.

What does concern me is the way you make personal attacks on people, then as soon as they retaliate, you spout the same old cr@p about posters shouldnt make comments about other posters or how everyone is conspiring against you or CONSTANTLY pm'ing about you, or hounding you off the forum.

Just to make things clear and so nothing is misunderstood in translation(another of your popular excuses) Stay or go I couldnt careless, as far as I am aware most people including myself usually have better things to talk or think about in PM than you.

If you call people like Bamaga clueless know nothing posters, or repeatedly say that peoples opinion doesnt have as much value because they dont see live games as you did with peewee or that they dont see live games and have a poor understanding of football, as you did of the Specialist in the Woodgate thread, you can't start bleating when they have a go back. Bit much for someone who has still never seen Liverpool live

Your arrogant, patronising posts only help prove the point that you're a pathetic, self grandising gobin. (gobin is a word we use for people like you where I come from , it means a silly person filled with their own self importance)

Note to Bigmick.... I didnt mention the team he supports once!  :D

:) Whatever. I've been here since 2004 and people do know what I do and what I don't.

Fair enough your comment about it wasn't aimed to me, I just joined the ongoing discussion.

Now, football please. :)

Once again yet ANOTHER thread is ruined by petty arguements and personal attacks, it is getting really, really boring now guys

Would it not be easier to just use PM,s to launch theses petty squabbles and character assasinations on each other. Or does it have to be in plain view of everyone for some sort of point scoring system, at least 50% of threads on here eventually get ruined by he said /she said he meant /she meant comments

Can we just stick to the topic, by all means disagree with each other after all it is a discussion forum but at least try and keep it civil and ON TOPIC

Like i said its really getting very, very boring

I apologise for all the inconvenient posts or attacks, wherever they are, that I have done, and I ask the mods to warn me if they deem my contribution is not good for the forum.

Sorry, Destro.

Anyhow I reckon this's been done to death. All thats left is for people to start having a pop at each other. I think we've established that Alonso has not had his best season ever in a Liverpool shirt, he is though a really good player, nobody really really wants to sell him, and that some people call him a holding midfielder and some a deep lying playmaker, but whatever you call him, he's a nice bloke and we all like him. Oh, and Masherano is also pretty good as well, and so is Makeleli. There, you didn't really need thirteen pages, that's it in a nutshell so we'll call it quits.
