Wud we sell sissoko.....hell no!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It's the fickle fans who say he should go after a dip in form, he was outstanding last season, people seem to forget that some of our own senior players put him in the top two best performers of last season. I know Rafa rates him very highly aswell.

Us winning the league doesn't depend on one player performing well, he is an OPTION, and a very good OPTION that we have nothing else like.

I find it unbelievable people call for his head, he's 22 for christ sake, dips in form happen. Mascherano's been here for just 10 games and people are saying that's the end of Sissoko.

The arrival of the new Brazilian lucas, is not a threat, it's more competition, Chelsea have plenty of centre midfielders aswell:

Makelele, Mikel, Lampard, Diarra, Ballack, Essien

As do Arsenal:

Fabregas, Rosicky, Gilberto, Flamini, Denilson, Hleb, Diaby

We need a big squad to fight on all fronts.

He needs to play every week..!!!
That's how he will improve..
He can and capable of being a great player...we have seen the glimpse of that and no one can deny it....

Aggreed, at times he played some brillant football.
I would be guttered though if he left!

This is an important point I must say. Deep quality squads are one of the most necessary things to be a title challenger.

His touch is non-existant. He hasn't learned how to make a 5 yard pass yet after 2 years. he is still way too reckless in many challenges.

He is not a defensive midfielder at all. Can't protect the back 4
and is a player you can't pass the ball to without risking possesion. His offensive abilites are non-existant. Can't head, can't shot, can't dribble, can't pass, has no creativity, got poor techique, zero vision and just looses possesion when running at the defense.

At home u just can't use him cause we need to be on the attack the whole game trying to break down opponents and if he is involved the play will break down. He can't be used vs mid-low table team who set out to defend cause once again we need to be creative and break down oppenent with attacking plays. This mean the only games he is reasonably effective is vs top teams away from home who are very skilled with the ball and uses the midfield to start the attack.

That means maybe 4-5 away games in the league and another 4-5 games in the CL and FA cup.
Otherwise I prefer any of the other of the midfielders we have who all can play in a set position and make plays and passes.

So in otherwords, cricket or some other sport is more of his style? You just tore down the very foundations of what makes a footballer a footballer. If anything you said was remotely true, then he wouldn't be on the pitch and playing professional football, nevermind wearing a Liverpool shirt. Complete balls, mate. Sorry, but your post was slightly hypercritical to say the least.

Sissoko is a excellent squad player, and there arn't many in the PL that do a better job at the 'role' that he does on the pitch, if any at all! Well deserves his place in the team.

Well, the post was meant to be provocative.
I didn't mention all the things he is good at.
But my point is he is has been terrible this 2nd half and he's a clear 4th choice after masch moved him down in the pecking order.
Now Lucas, one of the most promising central mid Brazil has produced in along time, player of the year at only 20, also coming in. And when u pay that much for such a promising player he hasn't just come to sit on the bench.
And Sissoko and Lucas will battle it out for 4/5 th choice for those coveted league cup games and bench warming roles...

After having played so much that he has done the 1st 2 years and maybe all off a sudden only get 10-15 games from start might make him unhappy. And when you're gonna have 4 top class CM to compete with it can make things worse.

I can't believe the utter shyte I'm reading on this thread. Obviously the people who want rid of Sissoko, and are claiming he isn't good enough for us, know a lot more than Rafa does. Christ, give me a f'ing break!

FACT - we NEED players like him if we are to win the league in the long run. He deepens the quality of our squad.

FACT - Mascherano and Lucas are NOT his replacments, as Mascherano hasn't been signed as yet, and Lucas is a youngster (like Momo) bought to strenghten the squad further still.

FACT - he has been one of the better signings at the club of recent years.

I remember a time when people were spouting similar sh*t about Carragher, and more recently Harry Kewel, about how they weren't good enough. The same people today who kiss their arse and chant their names like they are legends. What a fickle bunch we have following us these days.

take a chill pill mate...

hes not a good footballer and thats that...

i see where ur coming from and i do agree that he offers something different, hes energetic and hes a good destroyer.

but in all honesty, im getting sick of hearing the whole 'well i know hes not good but he offers something different' !

give me a f*ing break.

he cant pass the ball and that frustrates the hell out of me ! one of the poorest midfielders in the league in terms of ball distribution if u ask me.

if juve make a good offer id take it .. with lucas coming and mascherano and alonso there, gerrard moving back to central spot i think we have all the competition we need...

out of all the central midfielders we have in the club, hes by far the poorest !

That's because you made it a "vote only" poll, lad--people might actually have explained their votes otherwise!
