And Ukrainians don't tend to settle in the premiership just look at shevchenko and rebrov. A squad player at best

Hell ya get rid now he is no spring chicken and if we havent heard of him now he cant be that good.

I have never heard of Amauri, but Milito is very fast but doesnt look too good in the air. Good (fierce) tackler and good positionally from what I have seen for Argentina. Collochini(sp) is much slower but much better in the air. Collochini seems to have got the nod for Argentina in most competitions but maybe Milito has been injured again? (He was out for a long while with a bad injury before)

Yes - on a par with Drogba I've heard - and Benitez rates him in the same category. Other major clubs in Europe are also interested !

The article was referring to Gabriel Milito the defender not Diego Milito the striker. (although I think you were referring to the defender S@int)

Found many reports in spanish about this, this is the only one in engligh though from goal.com

Liverpool Bag Lucas From Grêmio
Reports emanating from Brazil are confirming the transfer of midfielder Lucas Leiva from current club Grêmio to Merseyside…

The player has been the hottest property to come out of the southern Brazilian Tricolor Gaúcho since FC Porto number 10 Anderson and Barça number 10 Ronaldinho.

Lucas is the Captain of the Uner-20 Brazilian seleção and is said to be in Liverpool already undergoing medical exams for a potential unveiling on Friday.

Grêmio exec Paulo Pelaipe has said that the deal will only see the player leave the Olímpico after Grêmio have finished their participation in the current Libertadores 2007.

"The President is dealing with the issue personally in England, but the player will only leave after we have either won or been knocked out of the Libertadores", he explained.

Although the numbers have yet to be released, Brazilian sports sites are estimating the value to hover around the 10 million Euro mark.

Lucas was injured and out of last nights Grêmio victory over São Paulo that put the Gaúchos through to the quarter-finals to face Uruguayan underdogs Defensor.

I think he would be an interesting player, young and promising. have seen him for the Under 20's, not much at Gremio but lets just see how this one turns out :P

This move for Amauri seems to be gathering some momentum round here and also in the national newspapers.

Not too convinced me by his record IF he were a transfer target. He scored 8 goals this year in 18 games, but for Cheivo(his previous club) he scored 17 goals in 90 games!!

His record is not too promising.

Talking of prolific strikers.......

Fowler hits end of Anfield road

Dominic Fifield
Friday May 11, 2007
The Guardian

Robbie Fowler's Liverpool career will come to an end this weekend against Charlton Athletic after the former England striker was informed that he will not be offered a new contract. Rafael Benítez met Fowler this week and confirmed that his one-year deal would not be renewed when it expires next month.
Fowler has scored 183 goals in 368 games in two spells with the club, establishing him as the fifth most prolific forward in the Reds' history. The player will explore his options and Bolton, whose manager Sammy Lee coached Fowler at Anfield, could represent one potential destination. Jerzy Dudek will also bid goodbye to Liverpool against relegated Charlton, with the Polish goalkeeper out of contract next month.

if west ham want bels let him go and we can have teves, i know they don`t own him but that money would help get him here if we make on bels then have to pay 15 mil or what ever it is for teves then we are not taking a huge risk on him and you have to say teves is a better player thay bels

Don't know where a mate of mine heard this rumor so i don't know how reliable it is but apparently Mascherenno has been telling Teves how great Liverpool is and how well they have treated him as Teves is interested in staying in the premiership next season
You can buy all the quality you like, but without desire, passion and the insatiable will to win, it’s nothing.
