I wouldn't mind Huntelaar based on what I've seen of him. He looks like a good poacher who can score all sorts of goals. Wouldn't have any problems getting adjusted to the PL either I believe, as the dutch mentality is way closer to the english than say the southern european mentality (not that xabi and others have done too bad here in England, but you catch my drift... i think :D  )

I have always agreed with Stu about Ashton, he's a very good player, we got offered him by Crewe for fook all and turned him down, bad move in my opinion cos we could have had a player for about £3m who would now cost at least £8m  :(

Meant to post this earlier but clean forgot about it, anyway -

Valencia have set their sights on Newcastle's 17-goal top scorer Obafemi Martins as a replacement for Liverpool-bound David Villa. (Daily Mirror)

From BBC Sport

I haven't actually seen the paper myself so I don't know if it goes into any detail but over the coming weeks there is no doubt that this type of story will just get printed day in day out.

Got the paper mate its only in the little gossip column they have daily.
The way they write these stories though, its as if its a done deal and that its common knowledge.

Thought it would be. Isn't the editor of that column WELSH WIZZARD?  :D

That column just doesn't hold any kind of weight with me, especially when you see things like:-

My missus who washes Sam Allardyce's dogs hair said she overheard him on the phone talking to Freddie Shepard about becoming the new toon boss - From Malcom in Bolton :D
They actually print bollox from people texting and e-mailing in, unbelievable.

Think thats the Star that do that mate but i know what you mean, they are proper random and bizarre  :D
The one about Villa is just on the end of a rumour about Martins from Newcastle going to Valencia, the way its put though is strange....like i said before, as if the deal is already done and everyone knows about it.

Tevez is a quality player and I'd love to see him at anfield I reckon it could happen. People accuse us of playing 'boring' football, that won't happen anymore if we get this kid! We need a striker aswell though maybe Villa?

We have Voronin coming in the summer mate so we only need 1 striker.  :;):

Liverpool are being linked with a double swoop for Palermo's Amauri and Real Zaragoza's Gabriel Milito.

The Reds have held a long-term interest in the pair and reports suggest they could make a move for the duo in the summer.
From Sky Sports Website:

Liverpool chief Benitez is busy planning for next season and he is set to be handed a substantial transfer kitty by American owners to Tom Hicks and George Gillett to build a team capable of challenging for the Premiership title.

Benitez is widely expected to bring in a new striker and Palermo's Brazilian-born hit-man Amauri could be one of his top targets.

Amauri's agent Mariano Grimaldi claims Benitez is a big admirer of Amauri, but says they could face a fight for his signature with a number of other clubs tracking him.

"Benitez is an admirer and considers him to be the best striker in Europe along with Didier Drogba," Grimaldi told The Sun.

"However, Liverpool are not the only ones after Amauri. There are offers coming from several clubs.

"But Liverpool have kept an eye on him for quite a while now."

Liverpool have been chasing Milito for some time and they failed in a bid to land him two seasons ago.

However, the Argentine international has opened the door for Liverpool to rekindle their interest in him by suggesting he would be interested in a switch to Anfield.

Reports emanating from Spain suggest Liverpool are ready to offer Mark Gonzalez plus money to try and persuade Zaragoza to do business for Milito.

"This is my opportunity to join a big club in Europe," Milito is quoted as saying in the Mirror.

"Liverpool have a Spanish coach, which is very important for me."

To be honest i have not seen much of any of these players, anyone else?
Looks like if Mark Gonzalez is onvolved in a swap deal, then its a sign that Benitez too has been frustrated by him......alot of ppl may get their wish if he goes.
But its good news i guess, if theyr'e as good as they say...

From waht I've seen of Voronin though I don't think he has the level of quality that we need. he doesn't score that many in the Bundesliga so can we really expect him set the premiership alight? And Ukrainians don't tend to settle in the premiership just look at shevchenko and rebrov. A squad player at best
