Go Floyd!! I hope he drops the golden boy, doubt he has power tho.
Has Mayweather been in with anyone that hits as hard as oscar? He might be in for a shock...he will hit him ...eventually lol
Mayweather on points.

Good fight, not a classic by any stretch. But the pair of em deserve credit. I thought Mayweather looked very nervous early doors and could have been on a plate had De La Hoya piled the pressure on immediately. Instead he played a tactical, sporadic fight. Which in truth offered some reward up to a point. Especially, as Floyd kept getting tagged on the ropes..Just that the killer shots never connected for Oscar. Fair play to Mayweather though, he took advantage of the fact that Oscar just simply ran out of gas, allowing him back in to the fight with a great 5th and particularly from Rnd 9 on. Where stamina became decisive. That and the cleaner, precise shots earned the narrow victory, for me - just. It was a tight contest though.

Worth staying up for anyway.

Turned it off after they announced the scores; i felt Oscar did enough to win the fight - Floyd didn't do much til the very end.

I just read the BBC report an supposedly the cards had both fighters labelled from the wrong corners...maybe some controversy there. I doubt that they'll do anything about it though.

its clear to me that oscar of two years ago would have had him easy.....the reason mayweather won was because he took advantage of the fact that he knew oscar would get tired late on because of his age etc.
whether he did this on purpose or not, i doubt he would have wanted oscar all over him like he was from round 2 onwards......he did connect better with his shots tho....oscar i felt did enough to earn a draw.

good fight.

Oscar was too slow, mayweather knew exactly how to fight him and had a deserved win

Did anyone else love it when mayweather came out with the sombrero and mexican colors?  Hilarious.  mayweather won it.  De La Hoya was simply too slow and couldn't connect when he got mayweather on the ropes.  A good fight.

Mayweather "rope-a-doped" De la Hoya, he gambled on Oscar not landing a big shot and let him tire himself out before he started picking him off with better, tactical punching..... Shame though, can't stand Mayweather!!!
