Been reading the Cisse post about him wanted to comeback to Anfield, it's made me thing about our present situation about strikers and to think about it I'm not too sure who I'd have from the two, before we'd signed Bellemy I would have chosen him purely on tallent but after seeing him play for us this season I honestly don't think he's offered anymore than Cisse did but what I do have to point out is although Cisse didn't prove himself at Anfield he scored a h3ll of a lot more goals than Bellemy has.

I've tried to decide who I'd prefer but one minute I think Cisse then Bellemy.

No brainer. Bellamy. Superior in every department except power in shots (but better finisher overall) and pace (which is marginal anyway).

Bellamy has scored 9 goals for us all against bottom clubs (or ex clubs :D ) except for the goal against Barcelona.
Cisse scored 20 goals for us mainly against bottom clubs (or little clubs :D )except for 3 goals in finals

But if you look at Cisse's last season for us he scored something like 19 or 20 goals which is a lot more than Bellemy and strikers are their to score goals, really I don't think either up to standard but I think if we could get £6-8m for Bellemy I'd go for that cos we ain't gonna sell Cisse.

I'm not too sure which I'd prefer? Both have attitude problems, both have pace and both when they do git the ball on target can score but neither have really impressed me, Bellamy scored a crucial goal against Barca and Cisse scored a very vital goal in the FA Cup against the Hammers so both have made their contribution, but to pick one from the two I may have to sit on the fence? bUT SLIP A VOTE IN FOR CISSE! :D

Thing is, as more and more clubs sit deep against us and try and grind out a 0-0 draw, neither striker is going to be particularly effective, as neither will have the space to operate in.

Since Cisse's only attribute is his pace and since he has a poor forist touch, he'd be easily neutralized when teams sit deep.  Bellamy, at least, works to close defenders down when they are on the ball and has the wherewithall to pick out teammates on occasion, even in tight quarters (do you think Cisse would have picked Riise out in the box at the Nou Camp? ??? ).

So, for me, it's also a no-brainer: Bellamy every time out those two.

I preffer Bellamy than Cisse.

a) Despite what the known liars of the journos say, Bellamy has proven to have more discipline to accept his rol in the club and to be rotated than Cisse. I still remember some of Cisse's comments and faces.

b) Bellamy is not a superb player but is a tough worker, and his movements are more clever than Cisse's. Cisse sometimes seemed not to know the basics of a good un-marking.

A very good point Bob because Cisse wouldn't have seen a red bus parked alongside him in that position.

My worry before we signed Bellamy for those of you who can't remember :D  was that all Bellamy's goals have come against bottom teams, except for a couple against Chelsea(1 pen) and we can now add 1 goal against Barca. Bad defenders or just poor teams chasing a goal maybe? If I had my choice I would sell them both, but in all likelyhood we can get a decent price for Bellamy whereas Cisse?

Your right, Saint, if it were a business decision and not a football decision, we'd get a better return on Bellamy, no question.

I dunno. Bellamy was a strange buy for Benitez really..should have saved up for a world class striker.  Heard Bellamy might return to Rovers..he did well there...

Bellamy's the only one of our forwards I'd keep.

i dont remember seeing cisse chasing down defenders in the 90th minute like bellamy does, bellamy gets too much stick in this forum as far as im concerned, in fact i have never seen him give less than 100% for any team he has played for

sell both. We don't need 2-bit players with attitude problems who wouldn't get into the Spurs first team. We're Liverpool.
