FULHAM VS LIVERPOOL - John craven....cottage

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

OK, Manhattan will create his first ever "UPCOMING FIXTURE" thread.

Game: Fulham vs Liverpool.

Time: 15:00 hours (sounds cooler than 3PM).

Location: Somewhere in London.

Here are some facts about Fulham and Fulham FC.

- Fulham is the largest place in the world to be called Fulham. Slightly larger than "Fulham, South Australia" (population: 35)

- Fulham were sponsored by Pizza Hut. When asked what he thought about the deal, Muhammad El Forehead said "I recommend the deep pan Hawaiian Surprise!!!"

- Fulham FC are nicknamed "The Cottagers". Their main hooligan firm are named "The Cottage Cheese"

- George Michael has also been called a "cottager". I guess he must be a fan or something.

- A family of six live inside Craven Cottage's cottage.

- Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is a famous fan of Fulham FC. He's tried using magic to help their performance, until someone told him it was just a movie and wands don't work in the real world.

- The town of Fulham will at some point in the future fall into the River London. It is widely expected that the residents will mutate into fish-like creatures.

- The town was named after it's first mayor "Sir Charles St. Pork" who ate too much and was literally "FULL" of "HAM"

- Former Fulham player Luis Boa Constrictor can eat animals up to three times the size of his mouth.

- Chris Coleman invented mustard.

- Craven Cottage is one of England's oldest stadiums and is also slowly being consumed by termites who feast on the wooden structure. A splinter group of termites have been seen near Merseyside's Goodison region.

- Jill Dando was killed in Fulham. Personally I suspect Moira Stewart did it.

Speaking of John Craven, it always reminds me of Little Britain and the Fat Fighters sketch.

Team news

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is almost certain to be rested along with a host of others as boss Rafael Benitez eyes the Champions League final.

Italian Under-21 goalkeeper Daniele Padelli could make his debut, with teenage Argentinian full-back Emiliano Insua getting another outing

Liverpool (from): Padelli, Arbeloa, Hyypia, Paletta, Insua, Gonzalez, Alonso, Sissoko, Zenden, Fowler, Bellamy, Reina, Crouch, Pennant, El Zhar, Hobbs, Anderson, Finnan

I hope we dont rest them for too long, they may become flat.

I hope we don't focus entirely on the final and do at least try to secure third. Fulham will be fighting hard for survival as will Charlton last game up, so it isn't like we're guaranteed any points. I'd rather see the players who will start play one game or the other, I fear some may miss both. Arsenal may drop points against Chelsea, but third will look a lot better than fourth and unless we're hoping to have less success in the Champions League next season, then Rafa needs to show he can juggle both competitions without letting one slip. If we're going to win the league then trips to Portsmouth, Fulham and several other places need to yield three points more often than not - regardless whether we have an important Champions League or Cup tie in the following week
