although personally i think anyone with gozzy eyes needs to be pitied, he reminds me of dave hedgehog, i was laughing the other day as he was looing up at the milan manager, the first words in my head were 'yes master', he looks like the kid in school who always smelled and ate bogeys and always had a rip in his shirt and broken buscuits in his pocket

You're jurassic Gerrard - Milan hard man Gattuso taunts Rafa's dinosaurs

By IAN LADYMAN

AC Milan hard man Gennaro Gattuso on Thursday night labelled Champions League opponents Liverpool a bunch of long-ball dinosaurs and warned Steven Gerrard he is after revenge for the 2005 final defeat.

The finalists of two years ago will square up again in Athens on May 23, with Milan desperate to atone for the penalty shoot-out defeat in Istanbul that gave Liverpool their fifth European Cup.

Gattuso emerged from a starring role in Milan’s semi-final defeat of Manchester United to mock Liverpool’s tactics and remind Gerrard that he is aware of the comments the Liverpool captain made in his autobiography last year.

Gerrard described the former Rangers midfielder as a kitten and accused him of showboating.

Gattuso said last night: "I feel there is a difference between United and Liverpool and we beat the best side of the two. United, at this moment, have far more technical players.

"All Liverpool try to do is defend together, with everybody behind the ball and just one striker.

"All they do is play long balls — every ball is a long ball. It is very different to Manchester, who are a real footballing team."

Gerrard was at the heart of Liverpool’s astonishing comeback in 2005, scoring the first Liverpool goal and winning the penalty — thanks to a foul by Gattuso — that levelled the scores after Milan had gone in at half-time 3-0 up.

In his book Gerrard: My Autobiography, the Liverpool captain said: "I wasn’t worried about Gattuso before the game, during the game, or after.

"People rate the Italian for some reason. For me, he is all mouth. He looks aggressive, but he is as scary as a kitten.

"I swear I wouldn’t mind playing against Gattuso every week. He doesn’t hurt you. I have never seen Gattuso play a killer ball.

"He won’t nick a goal either. The type of midfielder I worry about is Riquelme, Kaka or Ronaldinho. They go, pass, bang, goal.

"Gattuso just plays for the fans — theatrical and emotional. He was also the one Milan player who had a smirk on his face leaving the pitch at half-time. I saw it. F*** you.

"A couple of other Milan players waved at their fans and family. That disgusted me. So did Pirlo’s nutmeg just before half-time. Disrespectful.

"OK, Milan were battering us, but you never behave like that to opponents. I was steaming as I arrived in the dressing room. 'These ****s think it is all over. It’s not'."

Gattuso said that Gerrard’s remarks gave him all the motivation he needed for the showdown in Athens.

The Italy midfielder said: "I have 20 days to prepare to play against him again. I am looking forward to playing him again and looking him in the eye before it starts."

Gattuso denied Gerrard’s claim that the Milan players were already celebrating at half-time in Istanbul, saying: "No, we didn’t do that at all.

"It was wrong to say that. For me this is not about Gattuso against Gerrard, despite what he said."

His emotions will probably get the better of him.  Chelsea wanted revenge and didn't get it. Gattuso is consumed by revenge and he'll probably get himself sent off.

How can a team be out for "revenge" when it was AC Milan who surrendered the game by thinking they had won after only 45 minutes?

If they really wanted revenge, they would have beaten each other to death by now.

Thats rich coming from an Italian.

I cant stand Gattuso and agree with Gerrard that he's just theatrical and emotional for the fans, he's all mouth.

Tell yoy what - and before anybody on here has a coronary - you DO have to admit what he says (in part !) about Manure's brand of football this season, exp. vs. AS Roma. As a pure footie fan, they were on fire. Truthe be told, it was refreshing to watch.
Chelsea on the other hand, the other night, were more like a super-expensive brand of Wimbledon long-ballers !!

Wonder whether he disrespects the cup again by touching it on the way out?

Milan did just the same to the Mancs in 2005 only then they beat them home and away. Milan have probably the only midfield that can match ours for quality, but their defence and strikers are no where near the quality of 2005. A great team but I am confident Rafa will get it right from the off this time!

Its not good to go into a game feeling you need to take revenge. I frankly don't think they are as good as they were 2 years ago and as someone already said their emotions hopefully will get the better of them.

For a team that has reached the final you would think their players would show some levels of respect.

Enough of this verbal jousting. Id be quite hapy if out players and manager said nothing in response ot that now and just concentrated on preparing for Athens. What a :censored:.

Haha Gattusso, typical Italian bantering. It's obvious he hasn't seen us play as of late. He'd say the same things about UNited if they were playing them in the final instead of us.

My point is that the best thing we can do is to ignore their shíte and work hard. Italians are better than mourinho in mind games and we don't need that.

Gattusso is a player I like a lot. Gerrard points out correctly that he hardly plays a killer ball, but his positioning, his tackling, his command of the middle of the pitch is great. Not a player nice to watch, but when he hasn't the ball and is defending he's amazingly good. You can't make youtube videos with him though!

Indeed, it must be taken as a compliment, almost!  :D

Obviously long ball tactics work better than conventional tactics. But they're not nearly as effective as tactics employed by some Italian clubs for which they were penalised....................:D
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer
