There are things that will never change. No matter if you look at the eighties , or now:

* LFC wins
* Manchester United underachieves.

lets not be giving each other hand jobs just yet. they doing well in the league, and thats what we really want. and we havent won anything this season yet!

Pain for pleasure and all that.

Nah just wanted to see a non-biased opinion, although I think I came to the wrong place.

So who will win the Euro Cup then?

Yes, he's injured unfortunately.

Though I'm sure he can make an appearance at Stamford Bridge to parade the Premiership about.

A non-biased opinion?  You guys were rubbish on the night.  You gave Milan's key players far too much time on the ball, you defended like mugs and you lacked any scoring punch going forward.  Granted, you had key injuries at the back but you caused your own problems for the 2nd and 3rd goals.  Fergie said it all, really--you looked knackered.

Having said that I'll give credit where credit's due--you've clearly been the best team in the league this season and fully deserve the title.  I just think the CL was a bridge too far given that you have a rather thin squad.

Oh, and I think, realistically, we have a great shot at winning number 6.  I won't say we'll play them off the park or any nonsense like that.  For me, we have the defensive solidity to frustrate Milan and all we require is that little bit of magic or luck going forward to nick the win.  I'm hopeful that we'll rise to the occasion once more.  :nod

I'd pretty much agree with that from what I heard on the radio.

It's too hard for me to call who will win it, although Rafa's knowledge of European football is immense to be fair.

Vujadin Boskov said one of the most famous quotes about football.

One of his most famous was "football is football".

Simple phrase, with a lot of meaning. One of them being that the English game and the European game is football anyway.

Yes, in Spain you'll have more set pieces situations, the ball will move faster, and the tempo will be slower due to interruptions. In Italy they can sit deeper. But football is football. Either you're good at it or you aren't. That's why LFC has 5 cups, and Manchester have 2, because their overall football is better.

No doubt that local competition is very important for you. But for the rest of the world, LFC made it to the final of the best club's cup.

You might say then, I don't care the rest of the world.

But then again you'd wonder: Why am I so depressed after the 3-0 tonite?

I am considering posting the Premiership table again, but I don't want to embarrass you. After all the league is tougher to win than a cup competition.
