BBC 16/04

Chelsea's Didier Drogba and Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo head the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year award nominations.

United also have Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes as contenders, with Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas in the frame.

Rooney, Ronaldo and Fabregas are also up for a young player of the year gong.

Tottenham's Aaron Lennon, Kevin Doyle of Reading and Manchester City's Micah Richards join them on the list.

You couldnt really say that one of our players has been that good this season, even Gerrard has been a bit hit and miss

Bit surprised Lampard isnt on the list he has scored a lot of goals this season.

Ronaldo will win it

It has to be either of them two definately.

Dundalk Lampard hasnt performed anywhere near as well as Drogba and Ronaldo.

If i had to choose i'd say Ronaldo.

I dont even think Gerrard deserves to be on the list, his form hasnt been great this season.

Me to Carra has been our best player this season. Dont know why Gerrards there he hasnt had the best of seasons, not by a long shot for his standards.

JC has been our best player and deserves to be on the list ahead of SG.

Ronaldo deserves to win it. Drogba second .

Why is a lot of liverpool fans saying SG does not deseve to be there yea he has't been his best. But for half of the season he was playing in the mid and he was are best player bye far now he gone from right to left and behind the striker and its up set his game even SG when he is not at his best he is still are best player. Just be happy one of are players has been nomanated.

im happy stevie G is nominated, cos he plays for liverpool....but compared to his standards he hasn't had that good a season which he admitted himself.

he had about 2-3 good months, especially at the beginning of the year but since saving mclaren's job he's looked a bit....tired.

think ronaldo will win it. the :censored:. great player tho. the :censored:. :;):
