One thing I've never been clear on with these loans including an option - does it mean that Marseille deciding to sign him overrides any decision from LFC to try and bring him back?
I'd like to think that a year with more regular first team action would raise his level, and it'd be a shame if he then left the club a better player than when he signed.
As it stands though, I can't say I'm too gutted to see him go. Three games aside, he's been very disappointing.

Cheyrou moves to Marseille
Liverpool's French midfielder Bruno Cheyrou has joined Marseille on loan.
The 26-year-old Cheyrou, who has agreed a one-year loan deal, failed to establish himself at Liverpool.
He said: "I had to see if I wanted to opt to stay under a new coach or if I wanted to go to another club. So I opted for a change."
"Jose Anigo (Marseille coach) told me that he really wanted me to play. It was good to know that a coach was really counting on me."
Cheyrou added: "For two years I haven't been spoilt on that front."
Anigo said that he was counting on Cheyrou to strengthen the Marseille midfield.
"He has a good left foot, he's athletic, able to score with headers. He's looking for revenge after his two seasons at Liverpool and his fighting words are good to hear."
Marseille have an option to buy Cheyrou after the year's loan.
