Strange signing.
Well if there is much of a transfer fund and we stick with 2-3 of the current strikers then we're in for another season of the same. If Crouch contiunes his scoring form for the rest of the season he may make a case for staying but frankly his overall record is decidedly average. Fowler could score a hat-trick a game and not get a chance, Bellamy is a major disappointment and we simply can't afford to have Kuyt and another low scoring striker in the team.
Voronin is an odd signing, I wonder if Rafa would have signed him had the decision been made this coming summer.
I wonder how much Tevez would cost, there's been rumours linking him to Anfield but then there often are with any tenuous link - here it is Mascherano. I fear if we retain more than just Kuyt and maybe Fowler as a fifth striker for rotation/injury cover/cup games etc then we'll be looking at third again next season. Not only have we lost each and every league game away to the mancs, goners and Chel$ki under Rafa but also our scoring record is awful. I was comparing the Liverpool records of Houllier, Evans and Rafa last night and Rafa had the best (league) record in terms of defence and the worst in terms of goals.
Knowing what we do does a striker list of Bellamy, Crouch, Fowler, Kuyt, Baros, Pongolle, Mellor, Cisse and Morientes inspire you with confidence? Our defence is ok, midfield reasonable but our strikers let us down. We lose too many games to nil, even when the mancs lose they often score. And we've lost 28 league games in 108
