Ujfalusi

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Been watching him play for the Czechs over the last couple of weeks and he seems pretty strong at the back, especially against Greece the other night.

Do you think he would be a good signing to strengthen the defence?

If I was LFC manager (dream on) I would be holding a gun to his head to join us.
For me he has been the most impressive (not perfect) defender in euro 2004.
I kept thinking what a partnership he could make with Sammi. :)

I was thinkin the same thing Woof, apparently he is similar to Alan Hansen the way he goes forward.

For me he was simply outstanding, always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, (apart from the killer corner from greece).
Would love to see him playing for us.
Can't believe I've never heard of him before. What club does he play for ?

Ujfalusi plays for Hamburg and he looks like a class act and realistic unlike Carvalho or Woodgate.

It is 1 thing looking like a good defender in a defensive team i.e.Dellas but this guy impressed me alot in a very attacking Czech team.

He also has pace to burn which we desperately need in the back line as we will play further up the pitch.
Smith to Shankly:My thigh is a bit sore, but I think I could play.
Shankly to Fagan:Tell him,Joe.He has got no chance of playing.
Smith to Fagan:Tell him to sod off.It is not his leg,it's mine.
Shankly to Smith:Oh no son.You are wrong, son. It is not your leg.
It is Liverpool Football Club's leg.

agree with you on Ujfalusi. But hyppia.....lets just say if beneitz wants to build a strong defence, hyppia should not be playing in 1st team. He is too slow. We need 2 strong and pacy central defenders. Just look at arsenal (campbell & toure).

We should be able to get Ujfalusi pretty easily seeing he plays for hamburg unless beneitz has someone else in mind (ayala).

Woof I know what you mean, I think that lad is mint, I just hope Benni was watching the Greece game cos he had a great game.  He plays for Hamburg but was injured from Dec 03 - Mar 04, have a gander on euro2004.com cos it has some good info about players on there.  :)

Cheers Paul,
Just thinking with Gerrard and Owen staying plus the arrival of Cisse if we could add Davids and Ujfalusi to the team what a season to look forward too.

Totally agree the lad could a job for us. I find it very disturbing that the season is just around the corner & we are still unsure of our central defensive pairing.

I feel same as you...yeah I do agree with you that he does remind me of Alan Hansen.
That would be excellent signing for us and he is only 26.

WHHHATTT THE FUUUCK!
He has been one of the most important players for Liverpool throught years, he can even play with Henchoz with his side! Ujfalusi - Hyypiä would be the best defend in PL!

Hyypia is a great defender don't get me wrong but he getting like Hamman, if it comes up against anyone with pace he can't keep up and neither can Henchoz and thats why we need someone like a Ujfalusi/Mexes type player.

I mentioned the lad in the Euro 2004 section last week, and I think he looks solid, but writing Hyypia of is a joke lads.

Also Woof are you taking the gypsy kiss with Davids, he is awful and the wrong side of 30.

Sorry Leon mate but IMO he could've added something extra to our midfield. he's  got skill (and apparently I'm not the only one who's seen it ) he's got a "nasty streak" (always useful) and "he's the wrong side of 30" ,maybe we need someone with that kind of experience behind him. He's been a big time player. On a free !! if the wages were right I would have signed him,.
I was trying to be realistic as to signing a class midfielder who was ACTUALLY availble and affordable .     :)
