Lefties - Complete left sided team!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby alxy » Wed Apr 04, 2007 11:00 am

Just a bit of light hearted stuff. Has anyone noticed how many left sided players we have in our team? We could practically field a complete team of lefties. Some positions are stretching it (I know Carra and Stevie G are natural right siders, but they are just as good with their left and I couldn't find any more lefties to fit in), but hey, might work. Here's an example:

                            Dudek

         Carra      Riise        Agger        Aurelio

      Gerrard   Zenden        Garcia        Gonzalez

                          Kewell
                                    Fowler

It's a wonder that England struggle at international level for left footers, yet we are tripping over ours.

Kewell's been out all season, and Aurelio has had numerous injuries which have kept Riise at left back.

Well, none of our lefties are English, so there you have it. Even so, the lefties seem to get a raw deal when it comes to injuries. Kewell still out. Garcia out. Gonzalez, Zenden just back, and now Aurelio out.

Aye.   :D In hindsight I might as well have put Maggie Thatcher in there ahead of Blair.  :D
