* Attention all newkit members*

Work will be starting soon on the new stadium, a new beginning and i was thinking  it was about time that we had a section in the main lfc discussion board where we can debate the pro`s and cons and anything that might be bothering us, its likely to take anything up to two years to complete so im sure there will be many things we would want to debate. also as new members join if we have a section dedicated to the new stadium then we save ourselves having to answer the same old questions as they pop up in gereral lfc chat.

anyway after taking advice from the mods they felt it would only be right that i get you guys to vote first on whether or not you want or feel we need another section added. the vote will be open for one week after which time depending on the outcome ill contact the relevent people and hopefully get it sorted

thank you.

Id say it would be useful to have a thread for the purpose of discussing the new Stadium Jondoe..Similarly, nearer the time im sure there will also be one opened to celebrate the fading lifespan of the old one.

ANFIELD. what memories resonate from its very bones...

It will take a long, long time for its rich heritage to be emulated across Stanley Park. A very long time indeed.

I think a pinned thread would be enough.

That would give Manhattan a chance to draw up his blueprints.

Because I am designing the new stadium!

A new section would get 2.7 threads.

OK, first things first.

Seats. They need to be the best.

I would suggest padded seats, not real leather because it's too expensive.

In red obviously, with a small gold coin-like seal on the the front of the dropdown seat featuring the Liverbird.

Add two padded arm rests and a cup holder and there is the perfect seat.

Oi Manhattan,

Those seats are lovely. Problem is that after each match, a good proportion of those seats would probably need some sort of repair or patchwork.

Imagine eventually a couple of thousand seats with patches over the liverbird would look pretty stupid.

Then, next comes the design of the stadium itself.

I prefer enclosed stadiums. There should be little to no open spaces like the hideous Della Alpi.

However, I do like the idea of a stadium with light shining through small openings in the stadium exterior. The stands should be relatively steep with enough leg clearance in front and the aisles between rows should be wide enough for safety reasons.

The retractable roof is a good idea IMO, as it allows the club to earn more revenue from hosting events and concerts under the enclosed roof. The roof needs to allow sunlight through to help the grass grow and careful attention paid to avoiding large shadows.

I would imagine each seat could be removed by the stadium maintenance crew with their equipment, and easily replaced. The seating would need to be hardwearing. I believe Arsenal's new stadium has padded seats.

Exteriors to be considered too.

Should it be classical and traditional? Containing elements or references to the club's history?

I think so. Compare and contrast.

The exterior facade of Old Yankees Stadium, in New York:

Or, is it better to go with "the modern", like this monstrosity in Salford:

Well, I am a man who has a particular interest in posteriors.

Next up. Big screens.

Not sure if they are needed at LFC's new stadium, but if they are to be used, then something along the lines of White Hart Lane's screens may look quite good. Blended into the design of the stand:

The big screen would obviously incorporate a clock and scoreboard too.
