Liverpool's 2-1 win over Reading was Liverpool's 100th competitive win under Rafael Benitez in his 170th game in charge. It also takes Liverpool's tally of Premiership points up to 200 in 108 Premiership games

Rafa's century of wins

60 wins in the Premiership (108 games, 55.56%)
24 wins in the Champions League (40 games, 60.00%)
13 wins in the FA & League Cups (18 games, 72.22%)
3 wins in other competitive matches* (4 games, 75.00%)

Total : 100 wins in competitive matches (170 games, 58.82%)

*UEFA Super Cup, Club World Championship & FA Community Shield

Rafa's 200 points in the Premiership

2004/5 58 points in 38 games (1.53 pts/game)
2005/6 82 points in 38 games (2.16 pts/game)
2006/7 60 points in 32 games (1.88 pts/game)

Total : 200 points in 108 games (1.85 pts/game)

P108 W60 D20 L28 F159 A88 Pts 200

And how Rafa compares with the great managers of Liverpool's past in terms of league records :

1. 2.07 pts/game Kenny Dalglish
2. 1.94 pts/game Bob Paisley
3. 1.87 pts/game Joe Fagan

4. 1.85 pts/game Rafael Benitez
5. 1.83 pts/game David Ashworth
6. 1.80 pts/game Bill Shankly

*Awarding 3 points for a win regardless how many were actually awarded at the time in order to make comparison fair/valid.

Interesting read, cheers for psoting it Owzat. You post too seldomly these days might I add.

Don't knwo what to read into it other than what we already know. Last season was a very good one in the league, a massive improvement on Rafa's first year. However it seems we have taken a step backwards this season. This summer in terms of signings and the start of next season are crucial for me to tell us where Rafa is taking us domestically (we all know we are boss in Europe no matter who plays :D)

Thanks for the welcome back guys. The main reason I post elsewhere is I spend a lot of time chatting about cricket and also like to mix and match teams. I love Liverpool but I do like a bit more mixed conversation with fans of small teams (like everton and man utd!)

I will look to come on here more but my lunch break is only 45 minutes and my time precious. My views on the giraffe and other views probably won't make me welcome for long................ :D

he inherited a poor squad off houllier and had to contend with alot of injuries in his first season otherwise he would have reached the 100 alot quicker in my opinion
