She was giggling because her first crush was on Manhattan.

You then go onto Sissoko, Sissoko wins the ball then gives it away straight away. He's as distructive to us as the opposition at times which simply isn't on.
And I didn't say Gerrard isn't good going forward. I said he's not great and he simply isn't. Zidane was great. Gerrard is just "good".
Gerrard's EASILY as good defensively as he is attacking wise and any fool suggesting playing him in the hole is talking complete rubbish. It makes me laugh when people say you lose 50% of his game when he's in the holding role... but completely fail to acknowledge you lose the other 50% when he's in an attacking role...
Hypocrytes.

Gerrard in central midfield weakens our side. Simple as that. It dulls his attacking, and leaves us open to counters as he just will not stick to the defending needed.
Our midfield should follow the following blueprints without exception:
Alonso Mascherano/Momo
Pennant Aurelio
Gerrard
Swap Pennant for Alves and we're giggling like a schoolgirl and her first crush.

I really dont see what you can have against Sissoko, he cost almost nothing and has been on of our better players. Always steps up against the best teams, he murdered Chelsea and Barca. As far as I am concerned you have no leg to stand on with this one. Rafa recognises the short-comings of Momo's skills on the ball, but tbh the way that people bitch and moan about it is way over the top.
You speak some sense about Gerrard, I agree that he will never play in the hole, and he will be just as good as a holding player.
But these things are irrelevant. We dont need him in a holding role because we have Alonso and Mascherano. We dont play with people "in the hole" because Kuyt (and Garcia sometimes) kind of plays that role. We play Gerrard where he fits in best for the team, and he has grown into the role on the right. He helps out defensively and offensively and comes through the middle a lot.
Any arguments about Gerrard on the right I think are totally unjustified. People say he doesnt bring enough width, so what. Finnan is a great crosser of the ball and gets forward plenty. Check his stats, I heard that he was among the highest crossers of the ball for a defender (one of the reasons why he is topping the actim stats). Who set up Crouch's goal last night?
How has Rafa made an error here?

Why's that?
Probably because :
1) We dont need him
2) He's too injury prone
I think Stevie wonder could even see that![]()
Stu.Murph wrote:With regards to Gerrard, if he plays on the right so what? He's equally good in the right or in the middle. I didn't complain about that or his position. The fact is that until Mascherano, we didn't have two central midfielders good enough to play Gerrard on the right. Now we do.

He's injury prone yes, but worth a gamble and would improve the team massively enabling us to play a higher line and not need to protect the defense so much like we do now with Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano/Sissoko baby sitting them.
IE we could play a slightly more expansive game due to having far better personel.

simply because Carragher and Agger are head and shoulders above Woodgate.
