I think Macherano is going to be a super star. I would normally be woried when hearing transfer stories about Xabi Alonso going to Barca but, im not worried in the slightest at the moment because of the other performance of Masherano and also Mommoo aswell, two exellent top quality performance in the last week. Id hate to see Alonso go but god dawm we got good replacements.
At this moment in time id say that our midfield four is by far the best out of every team in europe. Masherano, Mommo, Xabi, and Gerrard aswell. I
Just so you know mate, Xabi has denied the rumors of him leaving for Barca. He will probably see out his contract before he even thinks about moving.
Selling Xabi Alonso would be a huge mistake, in my opinion. He is the only player we have who knows how to dictate the pace of a game and he is also one of the most intelligent (in a footballing sense) players we've got.
The one thing this season has finally proved, after mere dabbling in the previous two, is that Rafa is serious about rotation; both of personnel and formation. He will play with all four of them in a five man midfield, he will rotate them and he will use Gerrard on the right, as well as in the centre. Almost certainly at least one of them will miss at least a couple of matches through injury, too.
On Mascherano, he did everthing expected of him but I'm not going to get carried away after one game. If he's even half as successful as Hamann was we'll have one hell of a player. He's certainly more mobile than Didi ever was anyway.
