First off, Spurs won't sell him for anything less than silly money (a la the Manc bid for Carrick) which we will never offer. Second of all, let's see if he can keep up the pace, shall we? Mido looked a great prospect this time last year but has since faded significantly (and drifted off people's wishlist as a result). Most importantly, I think John Craig's spot on when he says Berbatov's quality but not exactly what we need.
Yet again another excellent post.
The fact is though, Defoe, Berbatov and Keane are all better than what we have here. All of these strikers are better than Kuyt and Crouch and are probably all on par with Bellamy.
None of them however are good enough to be the focal point of an attack of a team in the top four.
Berbatov is a very good player but is being vastly overated by people simply because he's hit a bit of form in europe against poor sides and scored a few goals against poor sides in the league. How many league goals does the lad actually have?
The answer... less than Kuyt who has a pathetic 9.
