Ok Guys i know ive not been on for a while after my brief spell back but i broke my computer but im on my cousins now so i thought id start a topic on my best film i have saw recently and wondered if anyone else had seen it.

I know this place used to be a haven for foreign cinema and this film is a masterpiece, its set during the Spainish civil war during World War 2 and its about a young girl who finds a labyrinth and is told she is the princess of this new world but to return she has to complete 3 tasks, this is also going on while her mothers husband to be is captain of an army during the war. i dont want to give to much away but its a top film, there are some really violent bits, 1 that stands out, and is pretty sad, i recommend it to any of you on here who love foreign films.

And as a bonus is you like Thrillers get High Tension, its french/English and is fu*king ace!

Yes, it's a good one Garymac.

It was during the WWII but not exactly the Spanish civil war. The Civil War ended in 39, shortly before the WWII started, those makis in the mountains were the resistance once the war was over. They were hoping that once the allies won the war they'd kick Franco out, but the allies didn't move a finger they preffered a Franco Spain, rather than a communist one.

It's interesting how it mixes the fantasy world and the real cruel world, it's a nice one.

One of the best films I saw last year, the acting and filming were amazing.

On another note, roll on 300 at the imax on the 22nd!

Big Chris cant wait for 300 meself, know a few people who have seen preview screenings and its as good as the hype,

Sabre cheers for that i wasnt exactly confident i had got the exact Civil war, World War thing correct but i was not far off! the shifts between the fantasy world and the real world is amazing and the ending made me sad but then happy!

Only seen a trailer for the host, looks good, bit different for Horror in Asia but i will definetly be watching that.
