He's a great player to have in the squad, and I'd put him ahead of Gonzalez for the left wing berth. People expect wingers to beat man, hug the white line and deliver a string of deadly crosses, noneof which is Riise's forte per se ... but as you said in the article he has a stunning left foot and scores goals. My main concern with him is that he is utterly predictable as a winger - in fact I'm still reeling at how Barca played him on Tuesday - have they never seen him play before?

As for left back Riise was our best until we bought Arbeloa. I think Riise is still living on that goal against United. My main problem with Riise is anywhere between 50 yards and 6 yards of the goal Riise shoots. One out of every 20 flys in and the other 19 either just whistle wide or end up in row z or end up hitting the corner flag. I think now Riise is a good sqaud player but not a starter anymore.

Amiga's consistent failed attempts to get off with girls during his years spent wagging school and bravely mocking grannies in town had seen his pointless lust turn to posters adorning the walls of his bedroom of athletic men. Still, better that than descend into a complete loser beyond hope, a tragic loner reduced to posting bile on websites, he thought.

I won't swap riise for cole. Did you guys forget how he scored volley goals from gerrard's crosses??? come on guys don't be fantasizing too much...you can't have a player who is great at both defense and attack...overall riise is great player and he can play both at left back and left wing... I won't hesitate to include him in my championship challenging first team...

JamCar05 wrote:Sergio Ramos didn't play for Leeds mate... that was Raul Bravo, if I remember correctly (and yes - he was/is). Ramos is a great prospect as a defender, as he is only about 20 years old. I believe he is right-sided and/or central defender though, so wouldn't change anything about our left side of the defence. That being said, I don't think Riise is nearly as bad, as some people make him out to be (not great either though.... somewhere in between)
