CL QF/SF DRAW. FRIDAY 11.00 GMT - PSV Eindhoven

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby KennyisGod....still » Thu Mar 08, 2007 11:25 am

Didnt we play Bayern in '78 on the way to Wembley? I aint one for superstition, but facin Bayern in the qtrs, whoever in the semis and then gettin Roma for the Final would be a trip down memory lane!!  :D
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road

My mind go for Milan or Valencia. It's quite interest to meet this two since Valencia is rafa's former and we beat Milan in the 2005 CL Final. Actually i don't mind to get scums or chelski because with anybody as an opponent, we will have to beat them. (this is our last hope for trophy)

Tomorrow draw as below:

Liverpool v Valencia
AC Milan v Chelsea
PSV v AS Roma
ManUtd v Bayern Munich

Get me Valencia because D.Villa will amaze by our noise. :p
Reds is the sacred colour before this world was born.

I don't there's much doubt that to win the thing we're going to have to beat Chelsea or United. Perhaps even both if they don't take each other out. An English team will win it.

There would be deaths at a Liverpool v United final. If we have to face them at all, I pray it's before the final for that reason, and the fact that I think we have more chance of avoiding their spawn over two legs.

The idea of 30,000 of us and 30,000 of them in Athens together is a scary thought. English clubs would be banned from Europe for 20 years after that.

English bookies always give bad odds for English teams - it makes sense.

I dont fear any of the European teams though.

I am generally not bothered who we draw tomorrow.  My expectations were quite low after drawing Barca and we made them look distinctly ordinary so, realistically, we won't be bricking it no matter who we draw.

Having said that, I kinda hope to draw a more fancied team rather than, say, PSV.  Reason being that there may be a sense of invincibility having turned Barca over.  I'd hate to see us think that we just need to show up in the quarters to book our place in the semis (a la Benfica last season).  Given what an up-and-down season this has been for us in terms of consistency and results against top teams, I think it would help the lads to focus more if we drew the likes of the Mancs, Chelsea or Milan.

Anyone but the English for me. My ideal draw would be:

Man Utd V Chelsea
PSV V Bayern Munich
Valencia V Milan
Liverpool V Roma

I'd take anyone to be honest. Rafa and the boys won't fear anyone. I wouldn't mind PSV or Milan though!!

I think that there isn't much strength outside of the English teams left. I'd like Chelsea V manure (who to cheer for though? probably cheer for lots of red cards).

I reckon that it is close to certain that an English team will win.

While I'd be sad to lose to a mainland Europe team I'd be gutted to go out to Manure or Chelsea. Glad Arsenal gone, LFC will find it easier to beat PSV than Arsenal.

Anyone other than Chelsea or UTD. As Niall said, ideally we'd have a Chelsea-Utd tie, let the media wet themselves over that one, have Chelsea and UTD kick lumps out of each other while we sneak past quietly into the semis.

It really doesnt look the strongest selection of clubs left.

Inter Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal all out.

Like most i would prefer to avoid the other english clubs and it would be ideal if united and Chelsea drew each other, because like it or not they are 2 firm favourites at this stage.

AC Milan, still decent but not in the same class as 2 seasons ago and without Shevchenko dont pose the same threat.
PSV - would be well organised but we are better in every area and proved that when we beat them comfortably at Anfield in the group.
Valencia - Very exciting and have dangers all over the pitch with the likes of Villa, Joaquin, Silva & even Morientes, but they do blow a bit hot and cold and have not been consistent this season.
Roma - I havent seen much of them, so wouldnt disregard them, but have a feeling it would be a good draw.
Bayern Munich- Having a poor season domestically but will always be difficult and well organised, i would fancy us over two legs though and think overall we should be too strong.

I wouldnt actually mind any of them, but if i was pushed would take Roma or PSV.
