Note that sometimes it's not used only by Liverpool players, a couple of weeks ago Xabi Alonso's brother Mikel was treated of his knee in the treatment services of Liverpool because his brother said we wouldn't get a better treatment in all Spain.
English clubs have done a good job fan wise and they actually have a plan for this visits, have a specific room to meet the players for autographs etc.
I'm an ooter though, some of the mates around here will give you much more valuable and first hand info.

Get the number 12 or 13 bus to stockbridge village, the bus station is opposite the albert dock. That will take you to Melwood which is Liverpools training ground marie.
As for the bar's ,there's loads of them in the centre of town that play live music , just follow the noise.
