I've got a funny feeling that the Chelsea silly money may be coming to an end. Abramovich seems to be losing interest, seems to resent it that Mourinho gets all the credit and wouldn't even let him buy that Bolton defender on a free in January.

I reckon next summer he'll only provide limited new cash and tell Mourinho to sell if he wants to spend. However if a new manager comes in Abramovich probably will get his chequebook out again.

I dont know if Roman himself is getting fed up with Chelsea or just with Mourinho but something is certainly going off there.

Another point regards Chelsea buying Eto'o or Villa is that they currently have Drogba and Shevchenko. Drogba is playing the very well and his goals are keeping them going. Shevchenko is Abramovichs good friend and is obviously the Chairmans first choice so therefore where would another superstar striker fit in?

I'll be very surprised if Maureen is still at Chelsea next season, and if it is Hiddink being lined up to replace him, he may be tempted to keep Robben, Dutch connections and all that. Anyway, Robben is injury prone, and seems to have motivational problems playing for the Champions this season - he's a funny one, but undoubtedly one of the world's best left wingers, so we've got to be interested.

I also think he likes us: he told Kuyt how great the atmosphere is at Anfield, 'though they don't like me'.

Eto'o would do just fine, though Tithead is right - he'll go to the biggest and richest club that are in for him. And if Rijkaard leaves Barca this summer, as he is thought to be, that might be Barca.

I'd prefer Villa, but he seems less than enthusiastic about coming to us.

I dont think Mourinho will be going anywhere. At the very least he will be given at least another year seeing as he did win the league back to back from his start.

Plus hasnt Abramovich personally contributed to Hiddinks wages as Russia manager. I doubt Hiddink would leave. But i may be wrong of course.

Disagree mate. I think there will be two managerial vacancies in Spain in the summer, and both of them will tempt Mourinho. Barcelona or Madrid would both love him, despite his recent spat with Barca, and if Rijkaard and Capello leave – good chance both will – there aren't many hotter candidates than Maureen.

Yes, Abramovich pays Mourinho's wages as Russia coach, but the thinking is he'll allow Hiddink to combine the two jobs - something he did with the Australia job, providing he has a very strong assistant. And does anyone really think someone like Abramovich would be worried that Hiddink hasn't paid his taxes?

As for Mourinho and Abramovich, that boat is well and truly on fire.

I just think Benitez has seen a little chance to create a bit of mischief before the home leg in the CL and he's gone for it. Although a signing of that scale would be a perfect way for the new owners to make their intentions felt. The bid would have to be over £25m i would have thought and even then Eto might prefer to stay in spain.

I tnk hed be a great signing and hes still young enough,20m is a great price. But would Chelsea offer double that? They have lost alot of money this year and i dont think they will spend as much money.Id love to see him at Liverpool,i dont care how many strikers we have ,if we have him,hes first choice, bellamy can f off if we get eto'o,and i wouldnt not sign him because we "dont need another striker"hes a must buy if we have the money.

I agree with most of that but however much money chelsea have lost theyll still be able to outbid us probably. Even so id love to see him at the club.

Don't believe everything that Guillem says. He might be a good pundit on La Liga, but as an Espanyol fan sometimes takes cheap shots at Barca.

It would take a miracle to see Eto'o leave Barca IMO. If anyone at the club had any single intention to sell him, i would wonder where they've been for the last 4 months as we've struggled without him.

Eto'o is adored by the Barca faithful, and he showed on Sunday that he just loves playing for us.

If we got £12M for Crouch off newcastle and £8M for Bellamy off Spurs, there's are £20M, we make a bid to for Torres, Eto'o or Villa and throw in VERY highly rated Luis Garcia into the deal,(who knows what they'll value him at).
Would a strike-force of (torres, eto'o,villa), Kuyt, Fowler and Voronin really be that bad?
don't bite me head off about the Luis Garcia thing, that could be the deal clincher :blues:

Eto'o is all wel and good but i just can't see him comingf to liverpool. Villa could be a possibilty and one i would love to be honest.

What about tevez though? His movement is great and at liverpool i think he could be awesome. Remember, i was the one who mentioned sissoko 8 months before rafa brought him here so i can judge a player.

Teves could be cheaper then what was quoted last year due to the west ham debacle. £7m for him. Could be a great

Eto'o and Villa are the best strikers around atm - but I can't see either wanting to come to Liverpool, sadly. Villa has already said he doesn't like the idea, and Eto'o would be away all the time with Cameroon.

As for Robben - I wouldn't have that dirty, diving piece of W*nk here if you paid me. Cheating scum.

i would keep sell bellamy and keep Voronin on to produce funds, as voronin is a bosman,, of course i know we could'nt get two of the three strikers i mentioned, i suggested 1 out of Torres, Eto'o and Villa.

you sound like stu the red there :D

on tevez, good player but nowhere near prolific enough. he's another player who does the majority of his work outside the penalty area.

 Mourinho at Barca.,... :wwww NO CHANCE EVER. He is second behind Figo for the most hated man in Barcelona at the moment and his style of football would not be accepted by the Cules.

Rijkaard has said publically now that he will be staying for at least another season, so looks like we are stuck with him anyway.

Our next manager will be Koeman, hopefully.

Peter why can Bellamy f off?

He has worked his socks off for this club and wants to be a success. Give the lad a chance. Every game he plays in, he works for the team.

FFS its started already.....
