Interview in Text

Looks like Masherano will make his debut today.
Rafa looks nice and happy. But its straight back to business.

Thank you for the links.

Curiously enough, there are slight differences between the text interview and the video.

For instance in the video Rafa reckons, and reckons well, that until the arrival of Mascherano Xabi ALonso was the ONLY holding midfielder that we have, which I agree. For me it was a mistake to get rid of Hamman without a proper cover for Xabi. Mascherano is another example of how giving depth and improving a squad progresively. As Rafa said now Mascherano could, if he does things well, dispute the place to Alonso or other midfielders, which is nice.

In the text we can read that after talking with a few friends, after the goal of Barcelona there was some moments in which those friends feared to receive 4 goals as that happens often against Barcelona if you lose concentration during 10 minutes. I want to make clear that I although I wrote that here, I'm not unfortunately one of his friends  :D

Interesting to hear in the video what difficult is to focus and concentrate after a big CL game, and that Rafa admitted that in the past we did that mistake. FOrtunately this did not happen against Sheffield UTd.

Very funny to hear and watch Rafa's face when he talks about the Spanish press and how they thought Barcelona would win easily. The tone is obviously ironic -in a Spanish way- and his serious face talking about "now they'll take us more seriously" with a couple of giggles within it, was very insulting -in a Spanish way-. I laughed a lot.

Good to read and listen that.

"Against Everton we had plenty of possession and even though we didn't create many chances, we controlled the game. I want to see us take our chances against Sheffield."

Typical for Rafa. Very good link

Rafa might be on his way to Madrid according to papers.

Hope not like.

By "papers", do you mean "Tribal Football"?

With the Hicks/Gillett deal now confirmed, I really can't see Rafa going anywhere. I can see him managing Real at some point in the future, but I'm thinking waaaaaaaaaay down the line.

Real Madrid is very unstable. It would be a mistake to go there.

Beckham and Owen made that error. Hopefully Rafa won't repeat it.

Rafa stated before that he will not leave as he is commited to LFC. Unless something bad happens with the new owners, I don't see him leaving at all. Just pure speculation and Real Madrid wanted Rafa is one thing but whether he will leave LFC is another.
