I would really love to see Fowler getting 90 mins on Saturday...i mean what was the point in Raffa bringing him back ffs,he's rarely had a kick!

Biggest thing for me here is that I am really looking forward to seeing Mascherano play. Although I am not expecting him to come out and blow everyone away, I am just hoping that he comes out and plays a good game. More than anything, however, I am just glad that he is going to get back into playing seeing as how he has been away from action for awhile.

Looking forward to seeing how Javier fit's in so quick after joining us...... There's always a risk of the "CL Hangover" after the midweek glory but surely we all fully expect the lads to take a comfortable 3 points today?
C'mon boys!! YNWA

Mascherano should settle quite quickly.  We play the way he's use to playing.

I can see Arbeloa and Mascherano playing as they need to get matches and learn about their team mates. Sheff U at home is better than to throw them in against the mancs.

Dont risk Momo ( if he is hurt ) and i would have gone for this side

Pepe

Arbeloa
Carra
Agger
Riise

Gerrard
Mascherano
Alonso
Gonzales

Crouch
Bellamy

I would go with this team for a 3 -0 but hard fought win.

Reina

Finnan
Sami
Carra
Arbeloa

Pennant
Sissoko
Mascherano
Zenden

Crouch
Fowler

Subs:
Dudek

I'll go for 3-1 reds. Fowler, Crouch(2). I think Rafa will rest a few today. I hope Robbie plays and gets teh whole game

Javier Mascherano has been handed a first Liverpool start for this afternoon's clash with Sheffield United at Anfield.
The Argentinian international lines up alongside Steven Gerrard in the Reds' midfield with Jermaine Pennant and Mark Gonzalez occupying the wide positions.

Robbie Fowler and Peter Crouch will start up front while Jerzy Dudek is recalled in goal in place of Pepe Reina, whose wife is in labour. Youngster Daniele Padelli is the goalkeeping substitute.

The team in full for today's game is:

Dudek
Finnan
Hyypia
Carragher
Riise
Pennant
Gerrard
Mascherano
Gonzalez
Crouch
Fowler

Subs:
Padelli
Agger
Alonso
Sissoko
Kuyt

lets hope we have a comfortable win and reinas missus has a safe labour and healthy baby!

pleased to see god start and i reckon he might bag himself a goal, were playing with two wingers so we should have plenty of width and hopefully they can get in behind the sheffield united defence

After his non-performances against Arsenal last month I've lost total faith in Dudek and I feel that his is a liability to our defence at the moment; I know there is nothing we can do 'cos Reina is needed elsewhere by his missus (but can't she cross her legs for a couple of hours. :p ) Changing so many in midfield also concerns me and I just think that considering that we haven't got a mid-week game coming up and only played one other in the past 10 days so much 'rotation' shouldn't be needed.

I think we'll sneakthis one today but I have a feeling it's not going to be a walk in the park.

2-1

P.s. Good luck to Pepe and his missus with the new arrival!

I just hope the defense havn't lost as much faith in Dudek as I have, or they will panic every time the ball comes over the half way line. Hopefully he will play well but I won't be holding my breath in expectation. Sheff U will certainly take heart from this and will try to exploit this at set pieces.

I still fancy a 3 - 0 win but even harder fought. Cant wait to see Mascherano play, I expect great things from him, maybe not today but soon!
