The liverpool fans were so rude to everyone, i cudnt believe my eyes.

Las ramlas the last couple of days has been full of drunks falling all over the place and knocking people over, :censored: on the middle of the main street in Los Ramblas, getting kicked out of bars fro being to drunk, we havent painted a good picture at all.And they were always wearing Liverpool jerseys.

The Livornio fans are around tonight for there game against espanyol and havent caused a bit of grief.

It hurts me to say it but everything ive said is true from what ive seen.

So let me get this right. You are telling us that 2 Liverpool supporters in the Barcelona end started p*ssing over the Barca supporters. What? and thousands of Barca fans just sat there and watched them? Are we supposed to believe that the barca fans just sat there and let them p*ss all over them. I don't believe you mate.

I'm just trying to imagine 2 barca fans in the Kop p*ssing over Liverpool fans. Not very likley is it.

He/she is a f'ckin liar, 10 posts this person has made so is probably either a barca fan stirring things cos they lost...trying to take the attention away from there own problems.
A jealous manc, again we outshone them in europe.
Or one of the bitters, who dont know what europe even is, and were busy losing at home st spurs while we were coming from a goal down to win in the nou camp.

Either way its b@llocks !

Wasn't on yesterday due to work so here are my thoughts on a truly memorable night for our lads again:

1. I said last week that I wanted to see a return to the tactics that served us so well in Europe in 2005: the up and at 'em, without actually being reckless tactic. Well it certainly paid off (although I must admit to a couple of doubts in the immediate aftermath of their goal); well-in Rafa.

2. Carra should retire from international football. My knowledge of world football is not massively extensive, but I reckon I know all the big name defenders and not one of them is better than him. Furthermore, if there is a more consistent player - in any position - over such a long period of time, I haven't seen him. His mental strength is simply unbelievable. What a leader! His composure transmitted itself to his teammates. I would not swap him for any other player in the world.

3. Danny Boy Agger is going to be the real deal. Up to this point, despite recognising his great, great talent, I've had the nagging proviso in the back of my head that he hasn't been truly tested mentally; hasn't played in a match where he's been under constant and intense pressure not to mess up. Well Wednesday night he passed that test. Admittedly he had a couple of little wobbles, but the trick is that he's having them without costing us, and they will all aid his development. £5.5m, or whatever it was, looks like an absolute bargain.

4. Big Mo. What can you say? I mentioned his courage under fire the other night and it has still got me dumbstruck this morning. Has anyone ever seen a player cope with the big game pressure of a booking so well? It's not the first time, I know, but last night, after not having played in months, he went on to dominate a midfield that included at least four of the best midfielders in the world. The card actually seemed to make him get stuck in more. What a player.

5. It shouldn't be a day for criticisms, but I do have a question about Rafa's continual selection of Dirk ahead of Crouchinho. I love his character and he's had some good games for us this season, but I really think he's got one major and one minor flaw: his first touch is poor at times and his finishing is variable to say the least. Last season Crouch was brilliant throughout, playing as the fulcrum of the side, retaining possession up front and laying the ball off for the breaking Gerrard to score. Why is Kuyt being picked to do the same job, but not as well? I don't get it. Too many times last night the ball went up to him and he lost it straight away with a poor touch that went a good six or seven yards away from him. I also think Crouch is a better finisher, despite his paucity with his head. Oh well, not relevant to last night's result, but deffo a question for the future, in my view.

All in all, this still feels very f#cking sweet, regardless of the way those transparently bitter f#cks at Sky tried to pi$$ on our chips. Bring on the return at Anfield and let's have more of the same.

I pretty much agree with every word of that good post, I'm stll reserving judgement on Agger though. There is no doubt he is a good player, hopefully he'll become a great.  :)

Good post that St Michael. The 2 Barcelona mates I watched the match with were impressed with Carra. His concentration, awareness, leadership is impressive.

Agger has a lot of quality and skill, but he's young, and you rarely get what Carra provides before you're 26. I think we have a great CB in Agger.

I got it wrong before the match. I thought Rafa was going to play Crouch. I got it right that we were going to have a very advanced line of defence. But we really didn't press that much their side of the pitch, we waited them in the middle of the park, as we knew Motta couldn't do harm as Alonso can if you give him some metres. "Achique de espacios" "Reducing Spaces" brought more than a decade ago by Maturana to the liga is a tactic that if it's well done, it's effective, but you can get a bag of goals if you don't do it well.

We mastered it, and their Xavi and Iniesta didn't have space to do much harm, except the minutes after their goal.

So advanced defence, plus waiting them in the middle, it's the tactic that has beaten Barcelona this year, if you see the 3-0 against Sevilla, you'll see an identical tactic. That means that Mr. Gaucho, the super man that wins games singlehandedly couldn't get much of the ball and had to go down to the middle of the park to get some of it. And he's not that dangerous there.

I disagree on the it's not a day for criticism. I think after a victory is a good moment to do criticism, because we are all happy and we can discuss what we can improve without getting too nervous. To be honest, I was shocked with the line up Rafa placed.

I thought Crouch was going to play, because he's excellent in positional  game. But Rafa waited for Barcelona in the middle, and thus the pace of Kuyt is more needed than the positional game Crouch provides. Once again, that's why Rafa is a great coach, and I'm not more than a humble supporter, he knows more football than any of us. Rafa, the tactician, in Rafa I trust. I never thought I'd ever say that from somebody that comes from R.Madrid, but it's true.

Sorry to be pedantic, but great and Carra go. A great prospect and Agger go. I wouldnt call Agger great at this precise moment in time.

you are not pedantic, you're right. I misused the time of the verb.

I meant he's a great prospect, and he deserves the time and the patience to work on him.

He couldnt learn from anyone better than Carragher though, and Hyypia. He's standing shoulder to shoulder with pure proffesionals and if he can carry on learning from them and combining his own game with it then he'll surely become a great player.

Not had a chance to make any comments until now.

Just wanted to say what a fantastic result this was for us.  Momo was excellent (MOM).  I felt we needed a bit more width at times but no matter we won.  It was like watching the old Liverpool FC at times. By this I mean that when the opposition had the ball and got over the half way line, there would be at least 2/3 of our players surround them and take the ball off them.  Brilliant, more of this please.

I have to admit though that Rijkaard's substitutions were questionable and played right into Rafa's hands. I was almost expecting the keeper to be subbed for another forward by the end.

I think he appears to be sh#t scared of playing at Anfield. Listen to his post game comments, also see the pre-game stuff where the manager and players were hoping to settle the game at home.

When Barca beat us a few years ago 3-1, they were poor in the first half (ie while we were defending and playing on the counter). Once we were forced to chase the game after they scored, they simply played around us, taking the pi$$, and scored at will.

Rijkaard fears that a Liverpool at Anfield holding the lead will be almost impossible for his team to beat. I can see Barca scoring at Anfield but there's no way on God's green earth I can see them keeping a clean sheet against us. Their defence and keeper just aren't good enough.
