JUst found a link to a story on the NEWSNOW website saying that we've actually signed Mascher outright for £10m because loaning him would've broken Premier League rules - Mascherano Story Link. Interesting development if true but the source IS questionable so we'll wait and see if the club make any official announcement over this now that the Barca game is out of the way.

If we got him for 10quid ...i think it's worth...if he had came to us rite after the world cup he's price could be on double and the mancs were tryin to get hands on him too...and thanks to west ham he's value dropped down ......

The Daily Express are reporting today that we actually paid just £1.5m for Mascherano

(Story Link) now that sounds like daylight robbery to me if it's true.

how often will he play tho with alonso momo and stevie g fit and playing?
thats my one concern, we dont need a defensive midfiedler that much (but he is class and a great addition to ANY squad in the world)

i see your point but should it be a case of whoevers form is the best should play? what i mean is no one should have a divine right to play, you only deserve the right to start if you play better than the rest and if Mascherano is playing better than momo or alonso then he should play, the more competition the better all round. managers should pick teams of players form and not on names. Potentially mascherano is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, if he is good enough he will get games.....

He is a very good anchorman, like hamann and I'm sure you will see all the midfielders play because of Rafa's rotation

First, from what I saw he reminds just a little bit of Hamann, which can only be good to us, and as Rafa said, 22 international caps at just 22 years old says it all.

Second, I'm new here on these forums, I got sick of the lfc.tv forums that usually end in frustration after a defeat and see us capture Mars once we wina game. Heres a great read about Sheff Utd saturday and Masherano playing superbly. Get on the boss line from warnock about bloodyhell if were getting conned this week god help us next week when we play Andy Johnson. lol Had me in stitches he did. Thank god there staying up next year.

I think Macherano is going to be a super star. I would normally be woried when hearing transfer stories about Xabi Alonso going to Barca but, im not worried in the slightest at the moment because of the other performance of Masherano and also Mommoo aswell, two exellent top quality performance in the last week. Id hate to see Alonso go but god dawm we got good replacements.

At this moment in time id say that our midfield four is by far the best out of every team in europe. Masherano, Mommo, Xabi, and Gerrard aswell. I

Just so you know mate, Xabi has denied the rumors of him leaving for Barca. He will probably see out his contract before he even thinks about moving.
