Great result tonight. Benitez is a tactical genius in Europe. Sissoko was great tonight, easily our best player, and what a strike from Riise!

I really do think we will go through, especially after that first leg. Hopefully we will get an easier tie in the next phase.

No you will remember this game as the game where your heads became too big.

And shame on your fans for the treatment to Stevie.

Not to mention all the "Son of a bitch" and other abuse our players received since they scored their first goal. Some micros should be closed in this tv broadcasts

There goes our CL effort then.

Well played Liverpool, you stuck to a game plan and capitalised on our mistakes.  After your scored the first goal Barca just freaked out and the fear set in.  Rijkaard again showed his lack of tactical nouse with the substitutions and the original line up.

Regarding Stevie G, there is bound to be a couple of idiots in a crowd of 95,000 and it was hardly anything worth mentioning anyway.  He was time wasting after all...

Anyway congratulations again, you will certainly go through now.

It is only right that we are all made up today, i have the worst hangover and have to play football in about an hour  :help  :D

But i am with A.B and Lando, this tie is not over, they have world class attacking players that could score a goal at any time out of nothing.
I hope we come out all guns blazing and dont try and sit back and defend the lead.
Barcelona are there to be got at and dont like defending.
The referee was an absolute joke last night, giving freekick after freekick to Barca for next to nothing, and booking one of our players (Agger i think) after the Barca players hounded him.
A stronger ref is needed at Anfield.
Carragher and Sissoko were by a mile our best players.

I cant wait for the second leg, but i am not counting any chickens yet !

BTW Sunyol what do you think of Rikkard subs?

He gave us the midfield IMO.

Its clearly obvious that Rijkaard feared going to Anfield needing a result, because by bringing off Motta for Iniesta he left his back 4 with no protection.
In his interview after the match he looked like he was losing it, his eyes where all over the place, he was like someone off there head, paranoid not knowing where to focus.

Ace I dont think taking out motta was the biggest mistake, Xavi is a better defencive midfielder than motta, and he went back protecting the back four, it is when Barca's boss took out the engine and heart of the team (xavi), which created alot of trouble for Barca.

All of us can see the funny side to Bellamy's goal celebration - swinging an invisble golf club - but the press seemed to condemn him for doing so saying that this is a perfect illustration of how intelligent footballers are.

Pro football players playing for top clubs come under the soptlight all of the time, and they have to handle this part of the pressure especially from the media apart from the pressure to perform all of the time. Journalists do not live in this kind of pressure life, so they should not be so judgementaln like that. Probably these journalists hated to see the fact that Rafa is a pragmatic man, and worse still, Bellamy was in the starting line-up.

As for Barca, the tie is only half way and is by no means over. We still have to do the business and get the job done in the second leg at Anfield to sew up the tie. Don't fall into the trap of being complacent and dismiss Barca by believing that they can't score 2 goals at Anfield.
