I'll watch the game with a couple of friends that are fans of Barcelona, just to feel like playing away :D

I normally have butterflies in the stomach in this games, but for some reason, not this time, I'm confident in what LFC can do. It's not that I'm underrating BArcelona, they're the best of Spain, it's just they allow to play. Sevilla, being a worse team, would cause us more troubles than Barcelona. I think it is going to be one of those games that are going to be remembered.

Let's ease the tension and talk about the referee

ha I am nervous to what team Benitez is gonna put out, but as we say in Rafa we trust.
Rafa has got a good record over them so hopefully it continues.

A win will be very positive for the return leg at anfield. If we score early can see us being under the kosh for the rest of the game but hopefully we can score.

Alonso, Sissoko and now mascherano i think this means Gerrard will be back on the right wing which is bad news for some including myself.

My team

Reina

Finnan
Carragher
Hyypia
Riise

Pennant
Gerrard
Alonso
Sissoko
Aurelio

Crouch/Kuyt

Wouldnt play Mascherano to much of a big game for his debut but like to see him come on. Hopefully to keep a lead

So would I, we should pick the fastest CB of the lot, today the threat won't come from the air

I was in school today talking about the match. He was saying that Barca have been good against English teams in recent times and that we are probably going to lose. I said to him, "We're not English we are scouse!"

Barcelona havn't even done that well if you look closer at the results. The only times they have won against English teams in the last few years ie. Chelsea and Arsenal, the opposition has only had 10 men remaining on the field. So basically we're screwed if someone gets sent off  :D

Funny you reference the Juve match Ciggy, I have had the same feeling all week as I did back then.  Another hour and a half, and I am bailing out of work.

Cough, Cough.........maybe need to leave sooner........ :wwww

There are  3 possible states

if we win or draw, great
if we lose by one and score away, hopeful
if we lose by one and don't score, still hopeful
if we lose by more than two, shít.

We haven't conceded a goal the last times we've visited that stadium. We passed through the two previous ties against them, latest in 2001. We can do it!

Great...Messi is not set to start and it get's even better, nor is Saviola.  So we have the Snowman up front.
