He is awful.

You obviously didn't see Hargreaves play in the 2001 Champions League final, where he was man of the match, completely dominating Valencia's midfield.

Don't let Hargreave's displays for England fool people, he's ten times the player for Bayern Munich.

Don't know, Hargreaves have yet to impressed me once, so I won't say he is useless but he is not the first name I will try to sign.

In 2001, GH was the "best" club manager on the earth, Owen was better than Henry, the fox in the box so needed by Arsenal...all ancient history now.

Why has Hargreaves had a bad responce?
Have you watched him play for Bayern, leon?

I can imagine him as one of the players Benitez would like, he is relatively young and very fast and kinetic. He wouldn't be world class but he would at least be a very good squad player or someone to make up a midfield that might be lacking in a certain key figure.

I dunno.

I have seen Hargreaves play a lot for Bayern and he looks a handy player.

He's no where near Gerrard's class but he's better than Scott Parker, and his overall game is more impressive than Frank Lampards, but he rarely scores goals.

Erickson never really gives him a chance, playing him as a "fireman" across midfield in the last 15 minutes of matches.

Presuming Benitez will be on the money with his team tactics and such (a lot obviously relies on this) then I think Hargreaves is a fairly safe bet. As you said, when used correctly he is a good player. He wants to come to the Premiership, I really doubt he would turn LFC down, he just seems like the right choice for me.
Looks a bit like McManaman when you think about it also

Hargreaves actually said a few months ago that if he comes to England Liverpool would be his first choice as he is a boyhood fan.

Actually he mentioned both Arsenal and Liverpool. But knowing that Arsenal won't be coming for him, Liverpool looked the likely choice right now.

Just because Hargreaves wants to come doesn't mean we have to take him. He is not what we need. If Hamaan stays, we need someone with creativity. Nedved would be a good choice but the chances are slim. Of course, Rosicky is fine as well.
