Henchoz: stevie will stay a red

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Concern is growing among Liverpudlians that the club's player of last season could be lured away from Anfield by mega-rich Chelsea.

Stamford Bridge Chief Executive Peter Kenyon and manager Jose Mourinho yesterday admitted their interest in the Reds star midfielder but Henchoz is not concerned by such talk.

"I'm not worried about the stories concerning Stevie. I think he wants to stay at Liverpool," says the Swiss defender.

"He's a Liverpool lad and he said he wanted to play for us in the Champions League. He's our captain and we need him."

Not something to get excited about, because I doubt Henchoz is that close to whats going on.

We'll know in the next couple of days as the pressure will grow on Stevie to make an announcement, although he could be heading away on holidays with his bird to avoid the pressure back home.
