Astrit ajdarevic - Yes, we've signed him too

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

No I'm not kidding, we've signed yet another youngster.

The Swedish-Balkan 16 year old played for the Under 18 side tonight in the Youth FA Cup. He came on in the second half.
Meanwhile, half-time substitute and Patrick Berger lookalike Astrit Ajdarevic was showing some classy touches in the centre of Liverpool's midfield.

The 16-year-old Swede clearly has an eye for a pass and is not afraid to put his foot in, though he could have earned a yellow card for a rash challenge on the edge of his own box as the game entered its final third.

Liverpoolfc.tv man of the match: Jimmy Ryan.

Martin Hansen, Stephen Darby, Michael Burns, Jay Spearing (capt), Robbie Threlfall, Charlie Barnett, Jimmy Ryan, Ryan Flynn, Craig Lindfield, Lee Woodward (Astrit Ajdarevic 45), Ray Putterill (Michael Collins 85).

Alex McCarthy, Daniel Spence, Julian Kelly, Jem Karacan (capt), Adam Bygrave, Alex Pearce, James Henry (Hal Robson-Kanu 65) , Gylfi Sigurdsson (Viktor Illugason 60), Simon Church, Tom Hateley, Nicholas Bignall.

That adds to the list of youngsters we've signed:

Jordy Brouwer
Emiliano Insua
Daniele Padelli [well he's 20]
Sebastian Leto [he'll join us in the summer]

nothing about this on .tv that I've seen. Doesn't seem to be in the squads you can look at on .tv either.

have you got a link for me to when we signed him?

There's a lot of praise coming from Sweden about this kid and it was just a matter of time before a big club came in for him.

He's only 16 so I don't have much info on the kid but he's coming from the second-division in Sweden.

There's the link, scroll down and you'll see his name in the squad. They don't have a page up for him and .tv is really slow with things  llike this.

Gotta be a good thing. If he is as good as you say then he adds to the list of 'quality' young players Rafa has brought in recently and going on the law of averages at least one of them has gotta be good enough to break into the first team... Lets just hope we can do an arsenal!

Steve Heighway believes Liverpool could have a real prospect on their hands in 16-year-old Swede Astrit Ajdarevic.
The central midfielder was signed from Swedish side Falkenburg earlier this month and made his first appearance in a red shirt during the Youth Cup victory over Reading on Friday night.

Ajdarevic showed composure on the ball and a willingness to get stuck in after coming on at half-time.

“He’s got loads of talent but he’s come to us out of season and he’s only had a week’s training, so the best we could do was put him on the bench,” said Heighway.

“When he’s fit he looks a really good player. He gave us a little bit of composure. He has a lot to offer but he’s a month away from fitness.

“He’s settling in very well. We had him on trial before Christmas. We’re really pleased to have him and I think he’ll be a terrific player. I think he could be a real prospect.”
