An important factor will be how far will reach the scum or LFC in the CL. The teams that reach far, as far as I can tell, pay a price in the league always. Playing on wednesdays or having a full week to prepare a home game is a huge difference.

I can seriously see Chelsea ending up in 4th place this season. On their day they're still excellent, but they haven't had too many of those days recently. Overrated though John Terry is, they look utterly lost defensively without him. I don't think the internal strife will play much of a part, but to me they just don't look like as imposing as they did at times last season.

Man U are baffling me quite a bit this season. In spite of some good results in the first month, I wasn't that impressed with them, and let's not forget that it was only a month after the season began that they lost to Arsenal, and drew with Reading. I do not think for a second that they're going to end the season unbeaten, and I can see several draws and at least a couple of losses in there for them.

I hate to say it, but Ronaldo has been excellent for them this season. Ditto Scholes, ditto Giggs. The latter two are in their 30s now though, and certainly won't make it to May without a rest or a lay-off through injury. The yellow cards are racking up throughout their squad as well, with Evra one away from suspension, and both Giggs and Rooney needing just a couple more. There's the rub. Beyond their first choice 11, the quality really drops off, particularly in midfield. They've a lot of games ahead, and I predict a lull on the horizon.

Their run-in too is pretty interesting. If the title race does tighten up, their away fixture at Chelsea could be crucial. If we're closer by then, a draw could make things interesting. Also, how pumped up will Stuart Pearce get Man City if, in the penultimate week of the season, they have a chance of stopping their neighbours landing the title?

It's a long fixture list for those around us, and I genuinely think we're on a run now. I don't feel like putting money on us to win it right now, but I think there's a twist or two still to come in the title race this season.

one thing to remember is that we must take each game as itself and don't look ahead.

man u has a thin team and will get an injury or 2. if they were to lose ronaldo for any length of time then all bets are off.

chelski is in the self distruct mode that i have been waiting for. if terry is as hurt as it looks we should be able to pass them. if they keep losing then it may all blow up

luckily arsenal started out so bad or they would be in first.

my point is , that we should take each game 1 at a time. our bad fixtures are behind us and if we run the table, who knows. i doubt it by hey what the ...... :buttrock

the possible dropped points by man u and chelsea could definately lead to a very interesting final to the season! a team slowly but surely climbing the table to clinch the premiership has happened before!

I believe! :buttrock

I'm not doing this predicting bullocks. You can't possibly predict the outcome of a game 10 games from now.

It's different predicting games in the competitions, as you do it week by week and you take in factors such as injuries,form,etc.. into your prediction.

What may look like a win on paper now may not be so three months from now. That team maybe in a slump and desperate for a win at that time. But you can't predict that now.

So I'm keeping it one step at a time, one game at a time.

Next is West Ham, and we shouldn't look any further than that.

That's the way we should look at. The only thing we should do is how to approach the next game and try our best to win the next game.  :nod

That's probably a more level head4ed outlook and will probably
be more to the truth, but I'd have us finishing 2nd.

If's and buts are fine. but realistically, I don't think we'll catch Utd. They've won 9 out of last 12, and don't look like faultering, i mean they only just lost to arsenal (away) and I dont think they'll drop many points in the rest of the season. Unlike chelsea and us, they have been fortunate with injuries to their first team.

I have to admit   that i wanted utd to beat arsenal the other day as I really dont think we'll catch utd whereas arsenal are only 1 point behind us with a better goal difference. They've beaten us 3 times this season already, and i can see them challenging with us and chelsea for 2nd place.

I like we need to solely concentrate on our games and not look at predicted results for utd, chelski and arsenal.

My wishes every weekend:
1. Most importantly : We win
2. Chelski lose
3. Arsenal lose
4. Utd lose. - only 4th on the list of priorities because - as much as I hate the scum - chelski and arsenal are our closest rivals as far as league positions are concered.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes his side can make a late push for the Premiership title.

The Reds boosted their chances of winning their first league title in 17 years when they defeated champions Chelsea 2-0 at Anfield on Saturday.

The result was a major morale boost for the Merseyside giants, as Benitez's side have struggled to take points of their main title rivals this term, with the club now 11 points behind leaders Manchester United.

The Spanish tactician is hoping to emulate the Valencia side he managed to their first Primera Liga title in 31 years when they overcame Real Madrid's nine-point lead in season 2001/02.

"There is a similar confidence here at Anfield now, to that feeling we had at Valencia," Benitez said in the Daily Mirror.

"The win over Chelsea was important. My players needed to win against a very top side in a game like that to prove to people that we can do it.

"Now we have done that, we have real confidence. There is a buzz in training, the players are showing they are ready on the training ground, and that is being taken into games.

"You can see how focused the team is. You could see that against Chelsea, there was a real determination there. We were attacking, defending, winning the second balls.

"We've played well against Chelsea in the past, but the difference was we didn't take our chances. On Saturday, we did."

From sky sports.

I think Rafa feels that there is still a chance especially after the win against Chelsea.

he doesn't say that though... thats just sky sports headline - rafa's talking about the buzz round the training ground, the feel of the team and the players. The fact is we could win every single game we have left, and still not win the prem because utd have a 11point cushion over us - and don't drop many points. and to be frightfully honest - dont look like dropping enough points for us to win the league.

Read between the lines mate, I dont think Rafa would ever come out and say that. As the press would have a field day and that doesnt seem his style in any case. I didnt say, he said we've got a good chance or anything. But I did say " I think Rafa feels there is a chance "

yeah mate, i agree there's a chance. As long as its mathematically possible there's a chance. All i was saying is its not realistic to expect utd to drop over 11points (and thats 11points if we win every single game)..... when they've only dropped 15points all season so far
