from Sky Sports:
Reds in new Raul link
Liverpool are being linked with a fresh move for Real Madrid star Raul at the end of the season.
The Reds have been credited with an interest in Raul for some time with Rafa Benitez a close personal friend of the Spanish international.
Reports emanating from Spain this weekend suggest Liverpool could make a move for the Real Madrid icon in the summer.
Speculation intensified over a possible move to Liverpool last summer after Raul was spotted at Anfield watching some games.
Raul's future at El Santiago Bernabeu is up in the air as he has struggled to hold down a regular place in Fabio Capello's starting XI.
The forward has previously claimed he would quit Real if the club made it clear he was surplus to requirements and after the defeat to Getafe in October Real president Ramon Calderon revealed Raul considered quitting the club.
The news alerted Benitez to Raul's possible availability and the Liverpool boss has been eagerly monitoring his situation in the Spanish capital.
Raul's agent Gines Carvajal has admitted if the striker was to leave Real, England would be his preferred destination.
"If he leaves Real in the summer it will be easy the destination in England," Carvajal told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.
Liverpool are thought to be ready to offer Raul a three-year deal in a bid to lure him to Anfield.
