Last night I tuned in to Soapstar superstar the final ive been watching it for the passed 8 days and find myself confused how the actually winner, Sean Tully from corrie, won. Now he wasnt the worst singer in the whole competition but in my mind and views didnt even come in the top 5. The runner up Hayley tamildon who plays Delilah Dingle from Emmerdale was Clearly the best singer and found herself drawing the short straw. Other contestants including Leon Lopez from Hollyoaks in the city, Mark Furze from Home and away and Matthew walfendown in Emmerdale who were also class acts and better than The corrie star found themselves below him. The mind boggles how he actually won and who voted for him because he entertained the crowd with his gay antics if it was a variety show then no problem he did entertain the viewers but this was a singing show and he clearly wasnt the best.

Did anyone else tune in and also find that the final vote didnt match what should have realy happend

Yeah, I loved it. Wanted Alan Fletcher from Neighbours to win. (Although I admit he may not have had the best voice.)

It's all to do with whom the public like best. And in all these types of tv progs, whom the public like best may not be the most talented.

At the final, though, I wanted Antony Cotton...aka Sean Tulley....to win, and I was really pleased that he did.

He was a real showman and a great entertainer and I think the public warmed to him.
Also, he is a Corrie favourite, and won best newcomer at the soap awards a while back, so all Corrie fans prob voted for him.

(I do think that Hayley had the better voice out of the two  though...she did sound good.)

But I think that personality counts alot in these things too and Antony, for me anyway, just pipped her on this.

(I only voted for Alan Fletch', once, though.)

But it was good, I enjoyed it...glad it's over now though as I can relax..  :upside:   :D

Thanks. Checked it out in the news archive....

Alan Fletcher says he finds scousers to be "incredibly friendly..people with a delicious sense of humour"

He also sings YNWA when he performs at gigs with his band...

I'm not a scouser myself, but I think this is nice to know for all who are..
