Portsmouth clinch Traore signing
Traore won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005
Portsmouth have signed Charlton defender Djimi Traore for £1m on a two-and-a-half year contract.
Traore joined the Addicks in the summer from Liverpool for £2m, but did not cover himself in glory during his 13 games under three different managers.
The 26-year-old was sent off on his Charlton debut against West Ham and also suffered a hairline fracture to his leg in September.
The Mali international has also had spells with Lavel, Metz and Lens.
He looks set to be replaced at Charlton by Manchester City's Ben Thatcher with the clubs having agreed a fee for the left-back.
Traore was a member of Liverpool's side which famously beat AC Milan to win the Champions League in 2005 and made 160 appearances for the Reds.
He was signed by former Addicks boss Iain Dowie in August, and also played under Les Reed and Alan Pardew during a turbulent season at The Valley.
