GARCIA RULED OUT FOR REST OF SEASON

Liverpool have been dealt a serious injury blow with the news that Luis Garcia won't play again this season.
The Spaniard was stretchered off during last night's Carling Cup clash with Arsenal and a scan has today confirmed he has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Liverpool Head of Press Ian Cotton said: "Unfortunately we expect to be without Luis for six months."

Chilean midfielder Mark Gonzalez, meanwhile, faces up to three weeks on the sidelines with the shin injury he sustained against the Gunners.

An x-ray after last night's game immediately confirmed there was no fracture, but a scan today has revealed severe soft tissue bruising and bruising to the bone of his right shin

among all his critics, he was one cheeky chappy that could have changed the game playing against teams like barca. european nights were garcia's thing. sh*t!

we'll miss him over the rest of the season - but more so against barca

:(

get well soon Luis

We need to buy someone. Who's available? Benayoun maybe? Not convinced about his attitude, but Rafa has been linked with before. ???

Yeah it's exactly like Rafa's first season.

:censored: performances in England, teamsheet looking like a page from a script of "Casualty", press slagging us off, angry fans.

No 6 here we come  :D

ouch! an ACL, that means knee reconstruction is required, he could be out for 8 to 12 months.  Good luck to him.

 Gutted 6 friggen months, really going to miss himand his goals in the CL, whens that Kewell back?
If he's not back this season either Rafa will have to buy a new left winger.
Best if we write this season off its been feckin horrible up to now.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

this is awful news! despite his failings he is a quality player who will be missed. the sooner Kewall gets back to full health the better, also we do need to buy/borrow a left winger for the rest of the season unless speedy G gets his act together.

c'mon Cig , whenever the left mid role is mentioned Kewells name pops up .Christ only knows why , sure he's a talented player but come this summer he would have been with the club for 4 years playing only 121 games (almost half of them in his first season) .Time to give him the elbow and move on .

Mayeb the Garcia bashers will be happy about this but i'm absolutely gutted. Massive massive loss to our Champ League hopes as he is (in my book) our 2nd most important player (after the Captain) when we play in Europe. The shittest week i can remember in a while for lfc. Watford are in for a fu.c.king beating this weekend.

Its a bad week on the whole for LFC. Lets hope the rest of the players can buckle down and really give it their all. They are sure as hell going to have to now.
