Good on a liverpool fan for emailing You're on Sky Sports to complain about Andy Gray laughing at us throughout the match

Yes, that was particularly annoying.

Every goal that went in, Andy Gray was giggling like a drunk Scotsman.

Benitez is the man for Liverpool of that I don't doubt, but also people are right to question his selection and judgement after such a debacle.

Spot on. Its only the fact that we will have some money in the summer for Rafa to seriosuly rebuild that im not completley distraught tonight.

I just hope we make 4th place.

HMM DID WE NOT SAY THAT ABOUT THE SAME TIME LAST YEAR? ???

??? was this not about the same time last year you last looged on too  ???

If the now hapless Benitez is to turn this whole sorry season around then he better do it before we have a new hierarchy at Anfield because they will not be so generous as Moore and Parry I assure you.

I would think that any of the worlds top clubs would have canned Rafa after that tonight but the ever faithful Liverpool masses sing his team off the field. Its wonderful sentiment but ill deserved and I begin to wonder if our support is loyal to a point of fault.

For Liverpool to concede 9 goals in 3 days to the same team of home soil is an absolute disgrace. Benitez has put us out of the cup with his outrageous team selection and should walk or be shown the door at Anfield.

Rafa's gonna have to guide us to win against some of the big guns now in the remainder of the season to get some of that respect back that everyone had for him.
were gonna have to take points from chelski, manure, bitters, gooners (fingers crossed) and definately barca if we want to take anyting from this season......the premierships realistically over for us but if we can get second and close the gap on manure then ill settle for that after a poor start to the season.
the CL.......well thats another story.......we all know were capable of doing it but with performances like tonight we havent got a hope in hell.....

Acidtone wrote:Come on guys, 2 poor home games and suddenly we shouldn't have Rafa as a manager? Rafa has far exceeded the likes of Mourinho in the EPL, and hopefully he will continue to do so with Liverpool for years to come.

I personally feel that the takeover can't come a moment too soon, let's get some more real quality into this site and mount a proper title race for next season.

Sorry mate, in what way is Rafa better than Mourhinio ?
Don't get me wrong I hate moaning Maureen with a passion but he is a great manager, shame I can't say the same about Rafa.
Look I was maybe a bit strong in my views earlier but the team selection tonight convinced me that Rafa is an idiot, he should have fielded his best team, he should have brought on Crouch instead of Carragher, and to then afterwards not admit his mistake like a man is the final straw.
I'll give him till the end of the season but if this means that DIC pull out ,ooh that sounds a bit rude ;-), then I will never forgive him.

It has to be more than a coincidence. When we've been on 10 match unbeaten runs you can't hear a peep out of him [no praise for Rafa during that time]. But as soon as things go wrong, then Rafa is the worse thing that has happened to us.

I'll defend Rafa with you...

Bad, terrible, awful result. I agree. I didn't agree with the team selection - Dudek should not be playing - there is no place for sentiment at this level. He had an absolute shocker amd was totally responsible for at least 3 of the goals. We also had parts of the formation where two inexperienced players were next too each other - Peltier & Guthrie - and a left back playing in Central midfield.

We made stupid individual mistakes and we were punished each and every time.

But a bit of perspective is needed.

It's the Carling Cup?!?

It makes me feel more sick reading what some people are writing tonight.

What did you think when you hear Arsenal fans calling for Wenger's head after they lost to Sheffield? I can't stand the disloyalty that is so prevelant in the modern football fan.

Rafa has done a tremoundous amount for this club in the past two and a half years. Apart from the improvement in the league, an FA Cup & a European Cup he has made significant improvements to the youth team & it's development.

Anyone who is calling for Rafa's head (on the basis of two bad games) is quite frankly an idiot.
