Major disappointment.

Can't afford any mistakes. Tottenham next.

Another tough game.

Question, why is the BBC 606 comment boards filled with idiots?

Hard to say really.

Manhattan has seen some crazy stuff on those boards.

Today, someone said that "Rafa should go back to the Spanish league to learn about the English league".

Manhattan will post again once he figures out that line of logic.

Bellamy was very good. Alonso's passing was amazing and Kuyt should have started. Crouch isn't good enough for us, simple.
Also, we deserved to win the game, we had bad luck.

Before this game we scored 13 in 4 games which is an average of 3 per game. Gerrard picked up great form when he was in the middle of the park and now once again he was switched to rw. Why has it been done pennant was fit and could have played. These kind of tactics annoy me

Thats very true and thats why I'm stressing to keep it that way! we have to finish our chances off every game (like against wigan, fulham, charlton etc...)

i dont like carragher at rb.  i dont see why rafa would move cara to rb when there isnt a need to.

oh well, another example of a failure to take our chances, second half blackbun seemed to get at us all the time and allow us no time on the ball, and to be honest we cant play against teams that do that. crouch needs to work on his heading, his heading is weak and i have no real confidence in him when he heads for goal.

also a strange set up from rafa, he knows what works now so its strange he decides to change it for what is always going to be a difficult game, at times the players looked confused. it was nice to see alonso getting stuck in and he had a few chances.

now guys here is the thing, where the funk is fowler? why were we not able to bring him of the bench? he would have loved a game like that, he would have been in the positions to score anf be able to find the net rather than friedel.

oh well 3 points dropped, we had a chance to gain on chelsea and we blew it, i cant really fault the effort yesterday, we did battle well at times but i always feel that we just dont battle enough in these games and come out second best

Well said.

Saw the highlights again, and I'm more gutted now than I was after the game. How we didn't score a goal I will never know, Alonso alone could had scored two easily.

But thats football.

He was not really playing right back, he was playing a right-sided centreback in a 3-5-2 formation.

Lucky, lucky feckers.

Absolutely tw*tted them from start to finish, and end up losing to the ONLY decent contribution that rag-a-muffin side throws together in 90 minutes.

Sao Paulo all over again.

B*stards.

I think you'll need to change your style of play in order to get past Barcelona. Why do you not play with width? You have wingers and do not use them. Gonzalez is a fantastic talent and yet he is wasted, I don't know much about Pennant other than he spent time in the slammer for smashing a car into someone's house and that he played for Arsenal and Notts County.

You'll need to use width against Barcelona otherwise you will suffer a heavy defeat at the Nou Camp.

On the plus side, I'm sure we'll take a 1-0 defeat where we've been utterly dominant, instead of a 1-0 defeat where we haven't created anything and haven't deserved to score.

All credit to Brad Friedel, I reckon. I wonder how many wins and draws that guy has earned them over the years...

On paper we should have won. On the pitch, we did enough to win. We didn't - hey ho.

Result aside, we're still in good form.

Who said Bellamy is :censored:? not me you'll find i think he is a
fantastic player, he can move score and make intelligent runs and drags defenders every which way from sunday, My statement is not negative at all the fact remains we have no out and out NATURAL goal scorer except a 30 odd year old Robbie (God) fowler thats all.
