How longs it been? 3 weeks? feels like we have been managerless for months now! The silence coming out of Anfield is deafening an i'm glad the Euros are here to distract me from it! Benitez is a done deal it seems but until we get confirmation you never know what might happen, i'm taking nothing for granted.
We know a bit about the guy through the press and we know he has a good track record. All the speculation got me thinking, what makes a great manager? obviously results/trophies ultimately define greatness but what qualities does a top manager need? Which qualities are the most important? enthusiasm, experience, inter-personal skills, talent spotting etc Must. the great managers have all of these qualities in equal measure to succeed?
What are your thoughts? Would you rather have/play for a passionate tea-cup throwing disciplinarian like Fergie, do you prefer the calm collected approach of Wenger or the bubbly enthusiasm & passion of a Bobby Robson?
