GARCIA: WE FEAR NO-ONE
Jimmy Rice 15 December 2006
Luis Garcia claims the Reds fear no-one in today's Champions League draw - insisting you have to beat the best to be the best.
Liverpool will discover at 11am whether they'll face Barcelona, Celtic, Inter Milan, Lille, Porto, Real Madrid or Roma.
"We don't really mind who we play. We know there are still plenty of big teams involved," said Garcia.
"If you want to win the Champions League and be the best in Europe, then you've got to play and defeat the best teams in Europe.
"In 2004-05, we beat Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Chelsea and AC Milan on our way to winning, and they are all top sides.
"So far our form in the competition has been fantastic."
However, the Spanish winger believes last year's defeat against Benfica should act as a warning not to take any team for granted.
"Last year people were suggesting Benfica would be an easy game for us," he said.
"Some even said we were already in the next round, but we all know what happened.
"So after that painful experience, we won't be taking any opponent lightly."
