i would like your feedback fellow newkitters....    i'm a self-employed financial adviser and have always just been a sole trader and traded under my name only

anyway i'm making some changes to the way i do things from january and i'm going to have a trading name. a lot of people in my situation will just trade as something like "smith financial" or "abc financial solutions" (fill in dull name as appropriate)

anyway i want a proper trading name, something contemporary but simple. so far i'm intending on trading under the name "square circle finance" as i think it meets the above criteria and also it suggests something along the lines of solving a problem (ever heard the expression "squaring the circle"?)

(there's also the added bonus of it being so simple an artistically retaded f*ckwit like me won't need to pay a graphic designer to think of a logo   )

anyway you're (generally ) a learned, bright and imaginitive bunch on here (you are LFC supporters after all ) so i'd welcome your feeback (negative and positive) about square circle and also any suggestions you may have

I'd call it "Woolly money", and the tag line could be "Keeping your dough wrapped up."

Or "Pimp your Pennies".

Square circle sounds fine, mate.

I have no better suggestions for a name wooly but perhaps you could ask Dward to sort out your logo for you. (just bribe him with a link to britney spears )

square circle is good but isnt it a bit strange for a financial advisor? if you were called round peg advisors or something id get ti as round pegs go in round holes, but  square circle might be construed as something that cant happen and that could be sublimnally telling people that you dont know what you're doing


it is a cool name tho

nah, keep the name, sounds good, maybe you can sort out my finances... althopugh believe it or not i can afford rent this month as zara philips won sports personality

square circle is very good for perhaps artistical agency etc. but sounds paradoxical in the trading circumstances in which consumer demands surety, stability etc.

NB. it's mostly mortgage related stuff i do, as opposed to investments and tax planning, looking after huge sums of peoples money etc, i leave that to the fat grey sweaty blokes (*cough* peewee *cough* )

much of the stuff i do is mortgages that don't quite fit in the traditional pigeon hole, stuff like wierd & wonderful buy-to-lets, corporate motgages, very large mortages etc so it's like i'm solving a complex problem for them as opposed to just doing a job for them, hence why i like the "squaring the circle" thingy
