Cisse broke his leg just before the 2006 World Cup
Striker Djibril Cisse played his first game for Marseille after a six-month injury lay-off and created the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over Monaco.
Cisse, 25, who is on loan from Liverpool, broke his leg in France's last match before the World Cup and had not played since in a competitive game.

He came on as a second-half substitute and set up Mamamouda Niang to put Marseille 2-1 up in Saturday's match.

His performance led to him receiving a standing ovation from the home crowd.

great news, I'm made up for the lad.

I hope he has a good and long career. Things didn't work out for him at Liverpool ,and I am sure he's just as disappointed about that as we are.

I think we all wanted him to suceed here after the horrific injury he suffered. I wish him the best of luck.

The lads problem was that he didnt give as much of a shi.t as we did lad, so I doubt that very much.
