I'll dig out that famous Paisley quote with regards to that comment. How anyone who truly supports Liverpool can come out with this type of comment is above my head.

How about digging your :censored: head into a pile of sh!te?

A loss is a loss, but 3-2 is better than losing 3-1. It's a matter of mathematics.

A loss is a loss, no matter what the score line is, to try and come out a counter argument like yours is pathetic, sorry, but it is. I'm a naturally competitive person, I want to see us win all our matches, that includes friendlies and "pointless CL matches".

Are you on a windup? Do you honestly believe that any of us here want to lose a match at all any point of the season? You might as well stop supporting the club because we're going to lose more games whether you or me like it or not.

We had no choice but to play a weaken squad today because we have a far more important match on the weekend. With matches comming fast we can't afford to risk playing all of our players especially when we're already thin as it is.

Cisse has nothing that would make him a fantastic player.

Yes, he does, Natural Pace.

All that suggests is that he should be running track. He can't use his pace properly i.e. Henry. Henry is fast but he knows how to run with the ball where as Cisse has pass the ball 20 yards into space and run after it.

That's the sort of player he is.

Surely thats exactly what Bellamy is like too??

But then again i bet you have a few bad words about him too......

Except Bellamy knows how to run with the ball, he knows how to run off the ball, he knows how to recieve the ball, his first touch isn't abysmal and his overall football ability is better than Cisse.

Hence why he is a better player than Cisse, but neither are them fantastic players.

Gerrard is a fantastic player. Alonso is a fantastic player. Kaka, Ronaldinho, are fantastic players. Not Djibril Cisse and no not Craig Bellamy [he's miles better than Cisse btw]

Agreed. but then again he is still pretty young.

(if his bones ever work again) lol

palleta, good player a bit to stuck in when it come to tackles, needs to watch his legs,a bit like traore

not really much to comment on,bad atmosphere, and a boring night(you wouldnt think that wiht the scoreline)

Paletta was poor, he made far too many mistakes he was just lucky that he wasn't punished.

I'm not saying you want us to lose, but your comment about the 3-2 being much better than 3-1 struck a negative chord with me, that's all. I'm well aware we have important matches, but the manner of the performance tonight was shocking. Sorry for being :censored: off, but that's yet another loss this season.

Sacrifices have to be made. I much rather see us win on Saturday than win a match that ment nothing.

It did mean something though, it was a European match, it was important, to me every game is important, every game is vital, and that’s how I see things.

What's done is done, it was good to see some of the younger talent getting their chance, it was good to see Fowler on the score sheet, and these are two positives I can take out of the game.

It didn't have significant importance, you're correct, but it was still a match we should and could have won. I'm not a fan of deliberately playing an under par team in Europe's finest competition. It's deeply disrespectful IMO.  Anyhow I’m looking forward to continuing where we left off in the league.

Deeply disrespectful?  Get a grip!  The last thing we needed to do, having worked so fecking hard to sew up the group at home to PSV, was to turn up in Istanbul with a full-strength squad and invite a host of injuries.

It's a long-haul trip to Turkey at a time when we need to focus on the upcoming--and very congested--league fixture list that will go a long way to determining what kind of season we're gonna have from here on out.  Where's the sense in playing Gerrard or Kuyt or Sammi in this one, given that the Turks were likely to get stuck in at home?

Personally, I'm a bit annoyed that Rafa played so many regular first teamers.  What would we have done if Alonso had been injured?  Or Carra?  Or Agger?  Or Bellamy?  Or Riise (who is not sh!te, BTW)?  Fowler needs games and Pennant needs to find form quickly, so they needed to play.  Everyone else should have been reserve players.

So, to whinge about the message it sends about playing an under-strength side is just silly, IMO, and to get your knickers in a twist about losing what was the equivalent of a friendly is equally daft.  Usually I can take your posts with a grain of salt, mate, but the things you've posted in this thread take the p!ss.  :no

Yeah, the game was meaningless tonight in terms of the result. Winning, losing or drawing wouldn't have changed anything.

We had already won the group, we have got this game out of the way and managed to rest some key players. Let's just now move on to the next league game and carry on climbing the table.
