I think The Traveling Wilburys were better anyway........

Smeg ! I have to ask . How can you only have heard early Beatles hits and yet be completely unexposed to their other stuff ?

Christ even if you were violently against their music there's hardly anyway you could fail to hear it .

(eg. First time I accidently heard "here comes the sun" was in a shi'tty restaurant in Khandahar 1971 )

Christ you can't half talk some boll'ox , are you suggesting that the "Beatles" didn't need Lennon/Mcartney

As for " those who know their music and have learnt to appreciate all members of the group and that goes for any band" The inference is that I don't know music . Guess what sunshine , I was in the music biz when you where just fluid in your old mans nutsack.

For what it's worth (not referring to Buffalo Springfield ) I have every respect for Harrison and Starr, I rate Harrisons solo work higher than that of the rest of the band . but thats just my personal taste .

B'stard now I'm gonna have to spend hours going through my collection   :D

Agree with many of your choices but off the top of my head would sub

Ringo ," I wanna be you man " for "Act Naturally"

George, "I me mine" and "Think for yourself " for  " I want to tell you " and  "Within you, Without you"

John, "Come together" and "I am the Walrus" for  " Tomorrow never knows " and "All you need is love "

Paul, "Helter Skelter", "Here there and Everywhere" & " Blackbird " for  "Rocky Racoon" , " Eleanor Rigby " & " Got to get you into my life "

No, that's not what I'm suggesting, you cannot have a band with just two people, and to me all the Beatles were just as special as the next member. I didn't say or intend to say you knew nothing about music, I simply said if people only see the front man or say the guitarist or co partner in a song writing partnership as the band and fail to acknowledge the other members then they do not appreciate or understand music.

  Even Ringo ?  (considering that the rest of the group aren't sure whether it was Ringo or a session musician on many of the tracks that were finally cut to disc ) .

(Think I'm wasting my time here , come back when you actually have something valid to say , in the meantime
:talktothehand  )

ps , How's Karim ?    :D

Well if you didn't have Ringo who else would you have had? Ringo Starr is a decent musician who I like very much, he was a special member of The Beatles, you're just being ignorant now.

The Beatles and The Smiths...both legendary but in different ways in different eras.  Couldn't compare them if I tried and don't feckin' ask me to choose between 'em.  Some days, I just gotta hear "Day in the Life".  Other days, nothing but "Rusholme Ruffians" will do.  Variety be the motherfookin' spice of life!

Pity Morrisey and Lennon both went down hill faster than a champion tobogganer with a back-wind when they went solo, eh?

Sorry - can't stand either of them.
