Carragher has a low centre of gravity that allows him to cover small periods very quickly and turn sharply, things that Agger doesn’t have, and things that are quite important while playing in central midfield, especially if it is not your natural position.

I see were everyone is coming from because Agger is the most comfortable on the ball but he lacks the genuine mobility, the game will pass him by if he plays in central midfield, it will be too fast for him.

Anyone remember the Rio Ferdinand experiment last season? Fergie quickly discarded that idea, just because someone is good on the ball it doesn’t mean that they are more qualified to play in central midfield.

Carragher may not have the technique to play as a genuine central midfielder, but he is intelligent enough to play that role and has the natural physical attributes to play the role well.[/quote]
Good point Has and i'd probably go with Carra if we were playing away from home against a tough side but we will enjoy the lions share of the posession on Wednesday night so Agger makes more sense to me. He might not be as tenacious or mobile as Carra but i think his comfort on the ball, superior passing ability and (above all else) confidence should give him the nod. Having said that i won't be the least worried if Carra is asked to do the job.
