You can't just blame "day trippers" for the bad atmosphere, there are plenty of OTT Liverpool supporters who stand up and sing until their throat is dry. There are many local fans that do nothing, but slag off the team from the stands, refuse to stand up and contribute to the atmosphere, it's a wide problem and can't be blamed on one section of the fan base.
It is sad state of affairs to me the Spion Kop lost a lot of its heart when seats were placed on the terrace. However that's not really an excuse when you look at what the fans did in Istanbul.
I think with a lot of modern day, younger fans, as well as a proportion of older fans do not have the same passion for the club that our fathers and grandfathers had for the club, modern fans do not take pride in our club, it's ashame, because no matter what happens to us, true supporters stick by the club through thick and thin, you have to take the rough with the smooth, otherwise what's the point of supporting a club? Another thing is, LFC.tv should stick old matches on the site, so younger fans can watch players like Alan Kennedy playing, so they can watch Bill Shankly's speeches and interviews etc, we must do more to educate the next generation and future generations of Liverpool fans the traditions that make our club so special otherwise, we'll lose that for good and I don't want to be ordinary, I love Liverpool because we are the best club in England and one of the most accomplished teams in the world. Our team in the 70's would have flattened the Brazil team of the same era, we should embrace the club, not hide it away because we haven't won the league in almost seventeen years.
