Fight scenes are excellent (bourne identity influence as I mentioned in earlier post), story line is good and the character development is strong too. You see the ego and lack of judgement, doubts, fears etc.

I think he will be the best bond of the lot (when he got the part I thought he was too ugly to be bond but probably adds more grit)

but the purpose of the movie is to show bond in his early days and why he doesnt get attached to women later on, so it is true to bond and explaining a few things about his later missions and attitude to women

Yeah, I get that, mate.  Perhaps I just didn't fully buy into his "head over heels in love" moments towards the end of the film...he still seemed distant and a bit cold to me in those scenes.  In any case, I'm positive that I'm being too critical of the film.  At the end of the day it's a Bond flick not "Remains of the Day" and, compared to its recent predecessors, it was a huge step up (the Brosnan flicks wouldn't even be worth critiquing on these kinds of issues, so that says something!  ).
