Just to be curious; how many of you liverpoolfans who think PSV are a poor team, see their matches? Is the Dutch League on TV in the UK? Or do you just see the CL matches? Cause if your opinion is based on the match in Eindhoven against the Reds, I have to agree, that was a poor performance. Both sides by the way..

I know I am not objective as a supporter, but don't underestimate this team. They don't play the best football in the world, but it is a very hard team to beat. So far this season 19 official games played, 1 loss, 2 draws and only 7 goals against. The Dutch League is by far no Premier League, but still.
Remember Benfica last year? (sorry to bring that up, cause I hated to see Benfica, any Portugese team for that matter, go to the next round! Especially against Liverpool, my favorite teams abroad).

PSV is a strong team and more then that, it is a smart team. With Hiddink as coach before and Koeman now, they adopted this 'Italian-like' style of football. Strong solid defence, creative midfield and dangerous strikers. Their matches are not that attractive to see, but its awfull to play against.

If Liverpool and PSV would play ten times, Liverpool would be the winner overall, but at the moment I think it is all open.. And don't forget; if Liverpool and PSV both win their last matches (against 2 very bad teams), a 1-1 or 2-2 is enough for PSV to be first in the group.

Obviously I hope and think we will win, but first lets just hope for a great match!

Good luck wednesday!

PSV are a good team.  I watch dutch football on setanta and expect this to be a difficult game.  We are in dreadful form and PSV can beat us.

Who plays the best football in Holland?  AZ?

they (AZ) play the best football to watch, and have scored the most goals of whole Europe. But they are not very effective against the better teams, they still play good then, but don´t win.

But on the moment PSV plays very well, especially the second halfs of almost every game. But I surely don´t underestimate Liverpool because they are in a bad period, their class isn´t gone.

But still I hope(and think) that PSV are capable to win this one, I mean winning from Gala and bordeaux is fun, but winning on anfield road is something magically

Yeah definitely AZ. The way they play at times is absolutely unbelievable. Even though it is great to see their games (because thats football how it should be), I think its to naive at times. I hope I am wrong, that one day 'total-football' will win, but for now I think it won't.
Especially in the really important matches in the Dutch League, for example against PSV a few weeks ago and against Feyenoord last saturday, they lose. They might be the better team, but the smarter team (PSV) or the 'over-my-dead-body'-team (Feyenoord) wins in the end..

I like AZ.  They score so many goals.  I think the Ajax side of the mid 90's was total football.  I think Van Gaal had a great side which was 'total football' and they won the CL and reached the final.  I loved that side.  They destroyed sides.  Remember a QF v Bayern and they tore them to pieces!!!

yeah, that was a pretty good team. But it is hardly realistic for a dutch team these days. Our best players are bought away after a couple of years

I see PSV have won their last 9 matches - maybe the opposition hasn't been the toughest, but it does include Gala and Ajax away.

Will Farfan and Kone be playing?

Only professional to - play in goal (41 appearances), Defence, Midfield, Striker, and later be Director and then to be Manager (winning a Championship) - at one club

yes, they will play. But in that row of 9 matches are teams that are not compareble with their english counterparts from the premier league.

It’s nice to see the best fans in the world giving the PSV fans a nice welcome. How anyone can call PSV a bad team is beyond me, I've watched them a few times this season and they look a very tough opposition. Someone said we rarely getting beaten at home and this is true, but what us Liverpool fans have to ask is how will it take before the lack of confidence and away day blues starts to creep into our home form? I'm confident we can win the match providing we play to the best of our ability because we can't afford to underestimate PSV; they are a team that are a threat to anyone.

That was an incredible side, combination of experience (Rijkaard, de Boer brothers) and talent (Seedorf, Kluivert).
Van Gaal is trying to do the same with AZ now. Not so much experience but a lot of very young great talents. Only problem is that it is hard to keep these players in the Dutch League. But thats just the way it is...

Thats why I am proud of PSV, if you look at who they lost the last years;
Robben (Chelsea), Rommedahl (Charlton Athl.), Kezman (Chelsea), Vogel (AC Milan), v. Bommel (Barcelona), Park (Man. Utd.), Lee (Tott. Hotsp.), Bouma (Aston Villa), Ooijer (Blackburn Rovers), Vennegoor of Hesselink (Celtic).

They might not all be stars now, but they were always in the starting line up for us. And most of them were part of the team, that made it to the semifinals of the CL the year the Reds won..

But back to the topic!

Did Benitez say anything about who he will start with? Especially attacking. What would be the best line up in your eyes for the game against PSV?
Crouch, Bellamy, Fowler, Kuyt?
